Close or remove old threads with insults

Based on new policy / rules or old policy / rules finally being followed should old threads that have insults be closed or removed? How can you point a member for a post when the thread violates multiple rules?

I suspect going through all the old threads is far more effort than can be managed. Most will sink to the bottom and into oblivion on their own.

I suspect when an old thread is resurrected it will be looked at, and new additions to the thread will be reprimanded based upon the new rules. Not any different than the legal system--when a new law is passed you tend not to persecute folks for what they did before it was passed.

I agree with old T. There is no reason to go back and enforce rules that were not in place at the time they were written. Concentrate on new posts and as new posts are added old posts can be reviewed for enforcement.
