Not even wives. No one is disagreeing with you. We're discussing the terms of payment.

sketchball82: I have two problems with your argument. First, you quote only the provision under Michigan law which states the penalty for prostitution. You don't quote the Michigan law which defines "prostitution." Second, you argue that legislatures intentionally write criminal laws to be overly broad. That could be true at times, but an overbroad criminal law will be subject to a constitutional challenge. Criminal laws are not permitted to be overbroad or vague to cover conduct not intended to be criminalized.

1) Very true. I cannot find it with text or codified searches. Further, there are no cross-references to an appropriate statute. After 10 minutes of looking, given this thread is rhetoric for me, I gave up looking. I was forced to assume that the legislature failed to define it.

2) Indeed arguing against the presumption of constitutionality may be possible and persuasive, but that's an expensive uphill battle if I've ever seen one. I would never suggest to do this lightly. Nevertheless, good point.

"Michigan law does not define prostitution, so the traditional dictionary definition applies: the act of engaging in sexual activity for pay." See:

http://www.criminaldefenselawyer.com...s-michigan.htm

I seem to recall reading about the law in Michigan or another state (Oklahoma, maybe?) where, after it'd been on the books forever. someone challenged the law because it didn't define "prostitution."

IMO, I feel it would have to be more to it to argue the difference. When you look at these SB/SD sites, they have restrictions on pictures and wording that it would be hard to say your promoting prostitution. Then look at these escort sites, they are more detailed about hourly rate and nearly naked or nude pics.

As far as business wise, a SD has more of a connection then just the sex. It's like we are dating on the down low.

Now if they want some media attention the whole SB/SD lifestyle has been racking national exposure... It would be very easy for LE to sting guys on some of the Sb websites... There is a laxness among many of the "john types"....

I think the grey area defines the differences as well as the lack of LE interest......
While there may be a lack of LE interest, I wonder if there are some "SB" profiles out there looking to "out" or shame SD's.

I have been in communication with an SB, was able to find her real world identity through some of the things she told me.

It turns out she is quite active in a project with a stated mission: "We are a coalition of state, civil society, and citizen organizers committed to the prevention of human trafficking in the local area through education, advocacy, and research."

Just wondering why a member of an organization like that would be looking for SD's.

FYI- many, if not most, anti-human trafficking organizations make a clear differentiation between the acts of consenting adults and coerced sex acts. Many advocate for the decriminalization of prostitution to push it out of the shadows and alleviate the market for sex trafficking.

Most think that they are both the same but in a true SD/SB relationship it is no the same.

If a hooker called me at 10:00 at night and said she had a flat I wouldn't get out of bed and help fix it.

I could go into detail but why bother, if you don't get it, you never will..
Technically yes, a SD/SB relationship is more than "lets screw, here's 80$.. BUT the end result i the same. I give over XYZ money to her, she gives me ABC amount of sex...
Just like in a marriage/BF-GF relationship. If i am not showering her with "gifts" and dinner dates, good luck getting laid..

True. its the same as the GF-BF relationship, just without all the emotional hastles..

Yes they are, and yes they do.. BUT the porn industry is highly regulated, AND TAXED! That's why they are allowed to do so.

I knew one john in London, who used that tactic TIME and time again to actually GET OUT OF prostitution charges.. He'd just film it, and if the cops busted him while in bed with her, he'd just show the camera and say "WE are making amateur porn films"..

So damn true!!
And what's worse to me is that the guy pays out before hand in the BF-GF stage, then pays a large downpayment for the engagement ring (WHICH she gets to keep if the engagement breaks off), and then again for the marriage ring.. And unlike a house mortgage, if she leaves the guy does NOT get to keep her..

I agree. Hell there's been a # of shows where they DID legally go after sugar babies/dads for prostitution.
BUT to me if marriage/GF's get 'paid' for sex, and its 'all ok. ANd so do sugar babes, then prostitutes SHOULD ALSO be legal..

But by the same logic, you stop paying the GF/wife, she often can go away (divorce!!).. The # of times i've seen guys who got divorced cause THEY LOST WORK and thus lost their income, is more than the # of guys who got divorced cause of infidelity..

Do yu honestly believe that if there's no sex involved guys would still get into the SB/SD relationship?

And that's on the cops.. A law is STILL a law making something illegal, even if the police don't enforce it often enough.

And that imo, is a stupid double standard. WHY IS IT wrong to say "here's fifty bucks give me a blow job. BUT NOT illegal to say, HONEY i need a new set of 500 dollar shoes and a dress that matches. YOU WILL buy it for me or else no nookie for a week!"..

If it were only a week without nookie, it would be more efficient to go pay for some and save the difference, lol!

A) Escort is on the clock, the SB is not.
B) For an escort you need an acronym dictionary (DFK, LFK, etc..) a real SB does even know about this.
C) decent escort can provide "OK" experience on first meet, SB probably will not. In fact a careful SD does not even ask for sex on first meet.
D) A quality escort is like a fine time-share condo, an SB is a like your weekend cabin. (You are more involved with the well-being of your cabin.)
E) Developing a fine SB story requires a lot of time.

I hope this helps.
