I might have chalked this up to fabrication.. but I thoroughly believe it, after the press release apologizing "if Bush's attempt at humor was not understood".. I'm not sure we are getting through to a 94 year old the idea that ass grabbing and telling dirty jokes to young women isn't acceptable.

Hopefully , now we are changing culturally so that women can feel safe coming forward sooner. Hopefully that in turn will make men, who would otherwise grope, grab, or worse, keep their hands to themselves. If the know they can't take what they want with impunity, perhaps they'll think twice.


I do hope all the women speaking up in the #metoo movement have legitimate claims. I fear if even 1 is found to be making up or even exaggerating the facts slightly, the whole movement will get unjustly tarnished.

A guy on CNN got chastised for suggesting men should always have another female witness present when talking to a female subordinate. That's not the worst advise in the current climate, even if we are good guys.

This has been my thought since this movement started. Even if 99% claims are legitimate, if that 1% that is lying is discovered, it will distort everything and once again it will go underground, victims will stay quiet because of the media backlash of the one liar.

Sadly, I'm expecting it to happen soon. I'm not optimistic because this has been the nature of these things for ever. And this pathetic business will continue as usual. Hope I'm wrong, but doubtful.

With advances in technology and social media, growing distrust of law enforcement and the public in general, I think the day is coming where everyone will be wearing some sort of body cam/listening device/recorder to record everything they do everyday. If someone is in any situation that makes them feel uncomfortable, it wouldn't be very difficult to broadcast it to the world on Facebook Live. Everyone will be a witness to everything.

There is never a time for a guy to harass a woman or grab her or make crude comments. However, when it does happen the appropriate time to say something is right then. The sad thing is at the same time we are loosing our ability to tease and interact with the opposite sex, something that was part of growing up and part of the "hunt" Hell I had my junk grabbed many times in the OR by some of the cutest nurses. Even had one pull my scrubs to the ground after I was scrubbed in on a case.
It was just fun female/male banter. Now you cant even touch a womans hand or shoulder during anything business related or its harassment
Let keep harassment real and punishable and when a woman is asked to perform sex for a job the asshat should be prosecuted immediately.
