Yep, like so many hot button issues, it's very multi-faceted. There is no simple answer.

Exactly, thanks Chung buddy you always say very intelligent shit and I 100 percent agree with you. It can be reduced but not stop and that was my only point.

MANY Years ago, the seed of drugs and guns have been planted. They have been collected and harvested to arrive in TODAY'S WORLD. This clip is spot on. It is in our nature to destroy ourselves, since the beginning of time, entire race's and culture's have been wiped out. It's a terrible thing to kill someone, you take away all he has and all he is ever going to have, in the blink of an eye. Lets just hope that the next step is NOT nuclear war.

That's completely untrue. South American countries, South African countries, and the Philippines have much more deaths, per capita, by firearm. Americans own the most guns per capita, but we don't have the highest gun violence or the only country with mass shootings.

Ah, but we may have the largest mass media...

Ive been waiting for someone to point out that Austraila hasnt had a mass shooting since banning assault rifles and other firearms. Been close to 20 years now or more. I fully beleive we will have a couple more of these mass shootings, and by then the dems will be back in power because poeple will be sick of republican party aka Trump, and we will end up with Australian gun laws. Been wondering about adding a few additional weapons to my stash before that happens.

Sorry buddy but having Australia gun laws is not going to stop shit here. We are the only free country as to ppl being able to do as they please, so this is probably why Australia has not had any mass shootings in 20 years. Stricter gun laws want change shit in the us the mass shootings will continue guaranteed.

We all heard this same song after sandy hook, theater shooting, and the 5 dallas cops killed last year but did anything change NOPE!!!!!! And let’s be very clear, if you can have a mass shootings of children at an elementary school and nothing changes then what makes anybody believe that any of this mess going to change or stop. Wake up ppl bottom line we live on earth with pure evil and only God can stop that, and that is not going to happen until he returns and regardless of what religion you believe that’s just the truth.

We can try to remain hopeful and atomistic all day long, but we shouldn’t be nieve and think that it want happen again, so just prepare your heart and mind for it because 2018 is around the corner and the next mass shooting is coming.

Sorry to be so blunt but it’s just the truth, and if anyone don’t believe this then just meet me back in this thread when it does happen.

Well then I guess we need to accept this as a strangely evolving form of population control that is occurring because of an advanced "free" society filled with very troubled individuals who during the course of their mental deterioration lose any semblance of social conscience.
I own several guns and firmly believe in the rights of citizens to own weapons for self defense.
What bothers me are the NRA type extremists that when you mention implementing more gun control laws, they then scream - they want to take all our guns away!
As though it will just snowball out of control.
I think there should be strict laws and strictly enforced laws against acquiring an arsenal of 30-50 guns and thousands of rounds of ammunition.
Sure, those laws can be overcome by professional criminals, but it can also be deterred by undercover law enforcement posing as arms dealers.
Look how often the hitman scheme gets broken up.
Otherwise, I guess we can just learn to live with it. Memorials for the victims and flying flags at half-staff will just become a weekly event.

I bet his girlfriend s a catalog gf. Something caused her to leave him. Either his gambling or he was abusive. When she left him, he went nuts.

Gun control won't fix this. You can buy guns legally or illegally. Illegally is actually easier. Modifying for full auto is a few click away on the internet. Hotels can't screen bags. Someone not on a watch can get away with almost anything. Face it, there are lunatics out there, some even on this board LOL.

[RANT]Fundamental problems here:

Journalists have deteriorated into stenographers. The quality of reportage on this incident is burrowing into new lows.

How we (don't) treat our mentally ill. Name a mass killer, serial killer or spree killer who WASN'T mentally ill and who DIDN'T give off clues in advance. It's too easy to villify, the stigma on the unwell and their friends and families is too severe.

How we want to blame the weapon, regardless if it's a gun, aluminum baseball bat, claw hammer, ice pick, screwdriver, whatever, instead of the person wielding it.

We don't hold the person or persons who fail to secure any weapon from the reach of the mentally ill responsible. The mother of the Sandy Hook shooter comes to mind and her death was the direct result of this failing.

Looking for someone to blame? Screw the politicians and the NRA and white country music fans. Look in the mirror. [/RANT]

Switzerland hasn't had a mass shooting...and they have more assault rifles per capita than we do.

It's the differences in society at play.

I agree with both sides of the arguments. I believe tougher laws may help. As I cannot see any reason a normal person needs an assault weapon. On the other hand, you can get anything you want illegally.
Here in Texas, they are discussing counter measures. Snipers with high vision optics. Drones and helicopters.
