I just finished Sharyl Attkisson's book...
...and she says that when she started making waves for the Obama administration by asking questions they came after her with everything including wire taps, hacking into computers, talking to her co-workers and friend, and character assassination. That last is interesting. Attkisson worked for CBS and was a good journalist. She was nominated for Pulitizer's for her reporting on Benghazi, Fast and Furious, and a couple of other little Obama things. Anyway, one method used to attack her was to start calling her a "conservative".
So my question for the peanut gallery (WTF and Assup can go someplace else, I have them on ignore for a reason) is; when someone calls someone a conservative who does not call themselves a conservative (an accusation), what do they mean by that? We know that liberals don't like to be called liberals for some strange reason but they don't. Still, a conservative is not a bad thing. So what do liberals mean or imply when they call someone a conservative?

Great book! Attkisson exposes lefties like hildebeest's associate David Brock as the modern day equivalent of Hitler's propaganda minister Goebbels.
Quote:
"... rather than offering truly original analysis, or representing differing views, the media pursues a propaganda campaign to smear the politician they see as their mortal enemy.
"All of this evokes the dicta of successful historic propagandist described earlier. From Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals:
• 'Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.'
• 'Keep the pressure on. Never let up.'
• 'development of operations that will keep a constant pressure on the opposition.”
• 'Pick a target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.'
• 'Not every item of news should be published. Rather must those who control news policies endeavor to make every item of news serve a certain purpose.'
• 'Propaganda must facilitate the displacement of aggression by specifying that targets for hatred.' "And from Hitler’s propagandist Goebbels:
'A lie told once remains a lie but a lie told a thousand times becomes the truth.'"
(p. 222, The Smear by Sharyl Attkisson.)

I never considered myself a "liberal" until very recently. Always voted Republican. I consider myself SLIGHTLY left of center. While I find the term "libtard" offensive I don't mind being called a liberal and I wouldn't think that someone who is right of center would mind being called a "conservative". Calling someone a conservative is not a bad thing, just like calling someone a liberal, in my opinion, is not a bad thing.
I have asked the question more than once, with no response, as to what issues put people in the conservative or liberal camp. I consider myself liberal but I'll bet no one knows my feelings on most of those issues that delineate conservatives from liberals. Let's be honest -- on this forum there's a lot more bashing of those on the left than those on the right.

There's more conservatives posting here than Liberals. But the liberals are just as consistent in bashing conservatives here.

Very true. Personally, I try my best to not bash a person simply because he or she is believes differently than I do on political issues. Like WTF stated in a different thread, too many on this forum do NOT want to discuss or argue political issues, but would rather immediately resort to insults.

Yes so we get stupid polls where we vote on the worst poster? That leads to some validation for you and others to bring up the 'worst poster'?
Do you understand how stupid that is?
Do you understand how stupid it is to for instance argue that bumping one thread for a year is ok but bumping more than one thread is wrong?
That is like saying that it is ok to steal a 100 dollars from another but not 200 dollars.
That is what this forum has devolved to. People arguing the most hypocritical shit.
Like I have stated the decent posters that could actually talk decent politics have long gone.
This is no longer a political forum...it is just an Insult Forum and most of you aren't even very good at that.

Lets face it. Those on the left are usually like retarded children. They want to belong but they don't have the skills to put up a decent defense of their points of view. They usually lash out with insults when anyone seems to question them.
Now you might want to call that an insult again but I find it to be a description of many leftie posters.

lol. I can point out several posters on the right who fit the description you put on those on the left. And there are several posters on the right whose posts I respect and want to engage in s a good debate. I would say that most of your posts fit that description.

Lemmings like you if they see a post from someone they dislike will start the shit slinging .
Anyone with point of view different from the far right will be called a liberal regardless of their political affiliation.
The lemmings march in lockstep because it is safer in numbers, and they can out shout anyone else.

We look at Robert Mercer, the man who is said to have out-Koched the Koch brothers in the 2016 election. The secretive billionaire hedge-fund tycoon, along with his daughter Rebekah, is credited by many with playing an instrumental role in Donald Trump’s election. "The Mercers laid the groundwork for the Trump revolution," Trump’s chief strategist Stephen Bannon said. "Irrefutably, when you look at donors during the past four years, they have had the single biggest impact of anybody, including the Kochs." Before Bannon and Kellyanne Conway joined the Trump campaign, both worked closely with the Mercers.
