Default Lack of Sleep.. Serious Problem?

I have no medical training, but I have always believed sleep is underrated.. this article makes sense to me.. especially relating to Cancer, which seems to be exploding the past 2 decades.. growing older population naturally has trouble sleeping, added to a seeming pervasive attitude that couples sleep with laziness.

from my perspective, sleep = repair.. healing. it should be embraced.

I dont sleep well...usually I pop a pm or melatonin then fall asleep by 12. But am a very restless sleeper and wake up several times in the night.

I have never taken a melatonin or sleeping pill.. I don't want to need them later.. I just try my best naturally, doesn't always work, of course.

first night in a hotel I sleep like crap so I'm with DR .. I take something to help fall asleep or I'll be up till 2am .
I need 6- or 7 hrs a night for sexy rest ....
but i'm a wake like every 2-3 hr's looking at the time . why I do this not sure !

Jay is right but I don't want to get stoned every night.

I really struggle with getting a good night's sleep. That is the only health problem I have. I'm lucky that is all but as Chung said, that could eventually lead to more issues not to mention aging.
When I sleep good, which is rare, I feel like a million bucks. Would really ljke to be able to duplicate that more often.

Sleep is super important. I didn't realize how much so until I got diagnosed with Sleep Apnea.

Apparently if I don't sleep with a CPAP machine I have a 60-80% chance of having a stroke. No thanks, I choose life.

I'm a little overweight but not obese by any means. I used to think it had to deal with me being a little pudgy, but the doctor told me even if I lose weight it probably won't go away.

So ladies and gentlemen, if you constantly waking up gasping for air and dry mouth with it, get a sleep study done. Shit's serious.
