If you use welding goggles they must be at least #13 and preferably #14.
My #4 goggles would seriously mess up my eyes.
My auto darkening goggles are barely acceptable at #13.

#4 goggles are not arc welding quality.. this my mention of a "welding hood"

Its not even going to be here enough to make it worth doing all that stuff for. Just do what you usually do when outside - dont stare at the sun.

very true. it won't be anything more than a slight dimming , briefly.. Wait for the one in 2024 = totality

I just can't wait for this. Here are some of the special activities I have planned.

Get up, pee and brush my teeth.

Brew coffee and make breakfast

Check my emails.

Go to the mailbox without staring directly at the sun.

Go grocery shopping without staring directly at the sun.

Drive home without staring directly at the sun.

Do shit needs to be done around the house

Drive to the gym and back without staring directly at the sun.

Work until it's dark out.

Pour a glass of wine and go to bed.

Can't wait cause this will be a day to remember like no other.
