And with that character (as others that quickly followed; within the Marvel Universe ie: The Fantastic Four...The Incredible Hulk...The Invincible Iron Man, etc) Joan's influence on Stan's writing was profound.
She convinced him to give each of these characters flaws that "normal people" all shared...make them
more human....give the readers that connection. Obviously it worked.
And, yeah...the original Amazing Spidey was pretty much a high school loser-nerdy kid (with a very high IQ) just trying to make his way thru his teen years. Lotsa readers identified with Peter Parker almost immediately....
