In my job, I sit next to people for 2-3 hours at a time with nothing to do. I often work, but the Hillarites always bring up politics when they see what I am working on. I always engage. The conversation with a Hillarite is always the same, and is reflective of WTF. i.e. Corporations are bad, profits are bad, Republican want to push old people in wheel chairs off the cliff, Continental European society is the pinnacle of progress, People are only wealthy because of luck and racism, yada yada yada.

I don't think I have had a conversation with a self described "centrist" or libertarian in past 5 years who believes in the constitution, or the concept that individuals are inherently responsible for their own damn selves. Not one single conversation. I have in depth conversations with about 100 people per year.

Add to that, look at how much air time they give to ANY 'mass shooting' even if there's no deceased. Now go compare that to how much air time they give to stories about ANY criminal stopped in his or her tracks cause of a LAWFULLY owning, CCW carrying gun owner stopping them..
