I vote this the stupidist post in the history of eccie... borderline retarted...
Why? The Dems have been a conglomeration of one-issue groups, and often the only common point of agreement they have is that the status quo is not acceptable.
Democrats always stick together. ALWAYS! If they get a crooked politician, they still support them to the end. No matter what... Their party leaders go so far left that they become communist/islamos and the democrats say nothing. Being a democrat is a religion of sheep.
The difference between the Tea Party and this "new" Democrat Alliance" is the Tea Party worked within it's own Primary System to fudementally change the direction that the Republicans were taking. Rather than continually sending the same Candidates back to Washington to carry on "business as usual", they presented viable Candidates to challenge them in the Primaries, and beat them.
This "Alliance" of Socialist/Progressive/Liberal/Democrats are just doubling down on the same shit that has cost them the Presidency, the Senate, the House, the Majority of State Leislatures, and the majority of State Governors.
Continue letting Nancy Peloci get on TV. Let the Hollywood Crowd keep giving the sanctimonious little speeches. Let the "Fake News" continue being soooooo concerned as they look into their cameras and flood the airways with 95 percent negative coverage of anything conservative, and especially anything Trump.
Have Katy Perry, Madonna, Beyonce', JayZ, and the Boss give a few more "Concerts".

More Counties turn Red.
yes, just more nastier. that is not a good thing if you're trying to reach people. this will turn enough people off.
it is possible we are facing a generational divide.
We absolutely are. And since I expect most of us on here--on all sides of the arguments--are 50+, it is going to be a major change in the next 25 years. The 20 & 30 somethings for the most part see things through very different eyes.

I think you need to get out of your myopic Texas community. That is most certainly not the case at the grass roots level in many places. That is the major reason the Reps, with a minority of people, can maintain a rough balance of power. The Reps have been more cohesive for decades.

Yes, there certainly is a generational divide.
But what does this mean over the long term?
Numbers, I think. Right now, there are a whole lot of millennials, since the birth rate began rising again in the early 80s. But as this group passes slowly through the python, they'll become middle-agers and will probably be a whole lot less liberal.
That happened with us baby boomers, who as a whole were very liberal when we were students. Something of a dose of reality has a way of setting in when one gets out into the "real world," however.
