I just got to town last night. I'm trying to get a feel for how it all works here. One thing for certain, discretion isn't a requirement. I got approached by 2 of them while eating dinner at an open air Cafe last night.

Per SOP, taxi drivers are a pretty good source of info. Just know they get kick backs from delivering clientele to certain places so get a few different opinions.

First impression, this place is cheap. Beer is about a dollar in some areas, so I can only imagine the prices for service. I'm going to try to get an in and out, and a bng whole here. The bng being my usual for the hobby.

If anyone can add to provide give some advice on top of what I've seen so far, it would be much appreciated.

Watch for friendlier exchange rates by using a fee free ATM (might have to go to a few) and ensure your US bank doesn't have the international fee applied at 3%.
Most cambios offer less than Western Union, so if you must take cash to avoid your bank charging you fees, typically you end up spending a part of that by sacrificing on the exchange rate.

If you take 100s, you can ask for a higher rate than if you have only 20s.
