Well said and agree with infamous. I myself wont see any of the gentlemen that disrespect and that clearly don't know how to speak to a woman. What turns me on is a real honest gentlemen.

mi·sog·y·ny
məˈsäjənē
noun
dislike of, contempt for, or ingrained prejudice against women.
"she felt she was struggling against thinly disguised misogyny"
I don't like to see, nor do I use, that term. Hobbyists that use that term leave me with the impression that they are pretty far along the misogyny continuum. IMO, it says more about the poster than it does about the target of the term.

I'd never use the word whore, but for those that do, the term "trick" is the reciprocal term. Personally, I like Escort, it's multi purpose and can indeed mean def #1 (as per JadeRose) . Everyone like to have a good looking woman on their arm at an event, and unfortunately, it's just another term to label women. But a man with a good looking woman will get more attention than a man alone, business, pleasure or social.
But it says a lot about ANY guy that uses the "whore" term. It's obviously a derogatory term, and any guy that uses it, I feel, is demeaning himself with his lack of vocabulary, or fellow respect for a lady.. We need a term for men that use the word whore.. Hobbyist is so NOT demeaning, but how about "slutlover"? or "pussy buyer"?

It just depends where it takes place because I like to be called dirty names in the bedroom but if you were to call me a whore in person and we were not engaged and any type of sexual relationship it would hurt my feelings but I'm just a freak like that

Fully agree Kindal, BCD, the rules change. There's a large number of things that are fine BCD, but outside, well, that's just different.. Some just can't understand the fence between the two.

Agreed. BCD, all bets are off and only limited to mutual agreement by the parties. After all, outside, I don't normally spank, pull hair, pinch nipples, lightly throat choke, etc my gal friends.

It took me YEARS to learn, with some women, that somethings I definitely considered physical abuse, was in fact OKAY with some ladies, and even encouraged.. and then more years to get even a little comfortable with it.. it's still in the Red Flag zone. lol

Only insecure slob asses like Whispers toss out the term hiding behind the keyboard.
The owner(s) of this site call them "Providers", so there is always that...

As the OP, I'm a pure unabashed hobbyist who just has a problem with all of the name calling asshole behavior here. Call me a white knight if calling names is your thing.

"Calling names" is not my thing. Why are you distorting the truth? Or maybe you can cite where I called you a name?

I did comment on the original post. If you think I did not, maybe you should familiarize yourself with the ECCIE Guidelines.

You definitely should familiarize yourself with the Guidelines -- in some quarters that comment might be considered "unprovoked rudeness."
And because this is an internet website, "where I came from" is, I suppose, my computer, which is much the same as wherever anyone on here "came from."

Today's word can be traced all the way back to the prehistoric Indo-European root ka- 'like, desire.'
Interestingly, this word seems to have split into several different meanings.
For the first, the word evolved into a younger Indo-European root karo which in turn led to Latin carus 'dear' and Old Irish cara 'friend.' From this we get English caress, charity, and cherish, all of which have (or can be have) very wholesome and endearing definitions.
The second path created another later Indo-European root, kamo, which eventually became Sanskrit kamah 'love' that we are all familiar with from the Kamasutra.
Finally, at least for this discussion, the third route is the one in which today's word developed.
From prehistoric Indo-European ka came proto-Germanic khoraz/horaz, the feminine form of which was khoron/horon. Eventually this became Middle Dutch hoere, Old High German huora, Old Norse hora, Gothic hors, and Old English hore.
As a side note, except for the Old English word which meant 'whore, prostitute, harlot,' the other cognates had the definition of an adulteress. Old English hore was in use prior to 1100 C.E. and continued on into Middle English.
It was not until 1535 that there is record of the spelling changing to whore, and as of yet there is not much evidence as to why the change occurred.
Today, it's just plain degrading in any social setting except for the small (during sex acts) window Kendal and other described.
My free speech opinion, it's doesn't apply today to this industry and is degrading in almost every context and case.
I also would think less of the individual who uses the word than who they are referring to.
However,
I also think less of the people who attack the individual, who may use the word, based on perceived weight or some physical trait to degrade him/her also.
