I keep my gfe rates higher for newbies. Anyone returning or regulars... I'll always work with. I care more about the connection & knowing that the man I'm seeing is going to be nice, clean & respectful. Catering to fbsm clients is a cool way to meet gentlemen & let them feel me out too. If they don't want to pay the higher newbie gfe rate they can always get a good ole' handy J & 30 min rubdown from me.

It makes complete sense to me. If providers were to get up in arms about ztonk's comment, they would find themselves being emotional rather than business rational.

I do believe this is a BUSINESS for most of these girls.

Why would they be up in arms? It's true. Time is a variable here; one that expires and can never be replaced.

That being said, airline logic can also be made to work against the hobbiest: if mornings and early afternoon are "slow" times and evenings/nights busier, those slots could sell for much more than $300/hr, if the seat became a bidding war. Likewise, by being less available, only hobbying two days per week, they decrease supply, thus forcing the demand to increase.

I think the providers are keenly aware of market forces, but where the airlines and providers misjudge the market potential is in surveying their customers. No one has asked me what it would take to hobby more often; and presumably, that is the hidden message of this thread. So, fellas, let's let them know: don't post your complaint; post your budget and expectations.

Example from my personal budget:
If FBSM were 45 minutes @ $100, I'd get one every 11 days
If gfe were available for 60 mins @ $180, I'd get one every 14 days
If pse were available for 30 mins @ $150, I'd get one every 30 days
If a truly unique experience were available for 90 mins @ $300, I'd get one every 45 days
If overnights were available @ $500, I'd get them every 90 days
If bng were available @ $50, I'd get one every 4 days
If a quickvisit were available @ $75, I'd get one every 21 days
If flights in the contiguous US were round-trip for $120, I'd go somewhere every 14 days.

I look for specials all the time. Partly because I'm limited in my hobby-resources, partly because generally I've had pretty good luck with the providers I've been with. Some have become my "go-to" partners and I repeat a lot with them. Sometimes it's been not so good, of course, and I generally move on. But, specials make it possible for me to participate, so that makes it special for me in more than one way.

+1 I try to do the same, and I've had a reasonable success. 100 for a hhr gfe, and 180 for an hour gfe, and I tend to do it twice a week. That's the point - I wanna do it often and get variety without spending a fortune.
