This country is sooo divided and weare saying such hateful
comments to one another. I read something on a friends Facebook page that I think we as a country and as a people need to think and rethink, or we are going to implode if we continue on this path.
"Some of the most incredible people I know voted for Donald Trump, and some of the most incredible people I know voted for Hillary Clinton. The people that I know that voted for Donald Trump are not racist, misogynistic, or hateful and the people who voted for Hillary Clinton are not hateful or intolerable.
If you are someone who woke up this morning and is going to start seeing people as who they voted for, and not as the person you have always known them to be, then you are what is wrong with America.
I will never think any less of any person who has different view than me, because some of the most beautiful, inspirational people I know will disagree with what I believe all day long, but at the end of the day they are still that beautiful, inspirational person I have always known them as.
Don't think less of people because some of their beliefs don't align with yours, and don't lose quality people in your life because you choose hate over love." -lovespunmom

Screw it - let California break off into its own country, and the liberals can all move there and try out their socialist utopia.

What you described is called " Divide and Conquer" . It's a strategy to control a nation implemented by the government. The illustration below explains it all.

It's not in either parties self interest to get things done.

It is in the "best interests" of individual representatives to get "things done," if they want to be re-elected. That's the "message" of 2016.

Most of this division is media induced. Turn on the TV, listen to some of the "news shows" and hear what the politicians say. In many instances, I don't see the footage of the politician saying what s/he supposedly said. I see a lot of interpretation of what they said or "didn't say."
It is ridiculous.

I agree gnadfly - we have way too much news coverage these days and it has gone from reporting the news to interpreting the news - the interpretation of the news is for us in our own minds not some over paid news idol !!!

What...?? You mean CNN's own, Wolf Blitzer and his "Situation Room", isn't Real News???
I jest, of course. Most people in my circle are completely turned off by these idiots that call themselves credible "newsmen".....they literally have the trust-factor akin to that once-local charlatan, the Rev. Robert Tilton.

This country been divided. Y'all completely lost your marbles when the black man won the presidency. No other President in history faced as many death threats as Obama. Militia groups increased 100 fold. Just sheer madness. Its cool though I conceal carry 3 weapons on me whenever I'm out and my only concern if its ever my time to go is to make wm earn it. Try not to be an easy clean. ;-) give em hell.

Actually the last threat came from a white guy driving a raggedy ass truck I guess mad because I was driving a fancy car. He stayed aggressive in a fit of road rage and I told him go home to his wife and kids and live for another day. Nothing i may have done was worth dying for... He seemed to heed the advice and moved along.
But it doesn't matter to me white , black or whomever. I didn't start collecting guns because I feared any one race or group. OK numnuts.
