A person has a right to be rude. I don't recommend it, but you can't legislate against it. I think you would find my first amendment believes very robust. Perhaps even more than yours. I think "no law" means "no law". I question even time, place, and manner restrictions. I think that the first amendment protects obscenity. Short of public safety, regulation of fraud, and common law defamation actions, I see very little wiggle room.

I went back and checked my sources; yes, it was Bentham who created the Panopticon and it was Foucalt who I had commenting on it. Of course, most people here didn't even bother to look it up or could understand what Foucalt was trying to warn us against. Nice to know that some people did.

i posted the guardian link on bentham, but didn't make clear he was the originator of the panopticon concept.

interestingly, he was the one who came up with a system of accountability with the question & answer session the british parliament was famous for.

bentham has weird request that after he died he wanted to be mummfied and put on display. they claim to have done this, but i've my doubts. looks like they stuck in a wax figure of him in a climate controlled glass case.

Hillary doesn't. And neither will her SCOTUS appointees. The First Amendment will be dead in two years.
