After last year we all knew it was coming. First it was Craigslist. Then aspd now Backpage. Theres So many smaller sites fishing to be the next big site. I like adult search. I haven't posted on there in a couple year's . but it is cool how you can pick filters and then it weeds out what you don't want and shows you who fits what you do want.

Political reality (and election aside) is that lawmakers continually love to have pressing issues of morality on which they can fume, rail and flail. But never take any definitive action because then they'd need to find new morality issues on which to fume, rail and flail.

More likely than political action might be a Supreme Court decision or two disallowing the morality issue entirely. But that is about as likely to happen in someone else's lifetime, not mine.

I'm not particularly worried for myself, as I only advertise on BP occasionally. But, I am extremely worried for the providers that rely heavily on BP as their main form of advertising. If they’re not able to afford Eros or they’re not able to be verified with D-C, Eccie, P411 or they don’t have the means to create a website to be able to post on TER, I don’t know what those providers are going to do if BP gets shut down after the arrest. I’m so frustrated with the way people view full service sex work and how they bunch us up with trafficking. If our work were decriminalized, clients could help workers who they think may be trafficked and trafficked workers wouldn’t be afraid of arrest if they come forward. As much as society demonizes the clients, the ones I’ve met have been really nice guys that would never want to be with a woman that was forced, and they would help if they could. This BP mess is going have very serious consequences for the workers who rely on it, and it will push them further into desperation, possibly even to dangerous street-based sex work. Male escorts, who also rely on BP (since RentBoy was shut down) are going to struggle as well. Since Redbook was shut down, many California escorts are struggling to make ends meet. Authorities need to think things through before they go doing things like this. Find another way to stop sex trafficking and leave the rest of us alone. The Nordic model of criminalizing the clients is not the way either. If authorities truly want to help trafficked person and sex workers so they can have their puritanical circle jerk and pat each other on the back on Sunday mornings, they need to actually listen to trafficked persons and sex workers.
