FactChecking Day 3 of the GOP Convention
We found fact-twisting on jobs, the debt, taxes and oil.
http://www.factcheck.org/2016/07/fac...op-convention/
Note to Readers
Our managing editor, Lori Robertson, is on the scene in Cleveland. This story was written with the help of the entire staff, based in Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. Next week, we will dispatch our staffers in Philadelphia for the Democratic convention. We intend to vet the major speeches at both conventions for factual accuracy, applying the same standards to both

That site should be called FactSpin. They compare apples to oranges to prove that oranges aren't red.

It looks pretty straight forward. Typically the statements fact checked are very objective. A person made this statement. Is the statement true? From what I've seen they remove spin The statement I would use as an example is the "What difference at this point does it make?" statement. Did she make it? Yes.
Did she say it in response to the questions Cruz and Pence asked or say were asked of her?
No.
Cruz: "Theirs is the party … that responds to the death of Americans in Benghazi by asking, “What difference does it make?”
Pence: "And it was Hillary Clinton who left Americans in harm’s way in Benghazi and after four Americans fell said, “What difference, at this point, does it make?”
It was said in response to the question, "But she did so when Johnson asked if the attack on the diplomatic facilities in Benghazi was a “spontaneous” response to an anti-Muslim internet video, as initially claimed by the Obama administration, or, as the administration later admitted, a terrorist attack."
There is a huge difference berween a callous and ill-considered reply about the deaths of our personel and the way it was said.
Clinton, Jan. 23, 2013: With all due respect, the fact is we had four dead Americans. Was it because of a protest or was it because of guys out for a walk one night who decided that they’d they go kill some Americans? What difference at this point does it make? It is our job to figure out what happened and do everything we can to prevent it from ever happening again, Senator."
It doesn't matter how either one of us perceives the import or impact of the action,
There is a huge difference between the 2 (claimed and actual) deliveries of the statement.
A claim/statement is made. Is it true? Then someone checks to see if the facts support the claim using sources they list. No judgment is made about the statement, if it's good or bad, appropriate or inappropriate, conservative or liberal. None of that matters to determine whether if the fact check is correct. It's tough to discuss an issue when the facts aren't established
In the case of this particular set of statements, what facts have been spun? I'm not saying they have or haven't. I would like to know how or why you feel the facts aren't true or they are misrepresented..

Yep, I will list it for you! You can also check it out at the same website. They do the same for both conventions. As I said before, the site is unbiased and based on research from many different sources. Hillary has a lot more staff checking on her facts than Trump did. So it may give her an edge. I don't know about the other speakers, however.

FactCheck indicated the statement was true, however, they also stated it was taken out of context, which means Hillary did not intend to be callous or cold about the Americans being killed.

Look carefully at the second question she asks in that paragraph. I think she was referring to the second statement in that paragraph when she said, "What difference at this point does it make?". Therefore, FactCheck was correct; Hillary did not intentionally mean to be cold or callous. The GOP speakers were using what little information they had to make her look that way.
Remember, there are casualties in all wars. Cherry picking this one just to bash Hillary during a campaign doesn't do any good. Everyone in America already knows about Benghazi and Hillary's involvement. Hillary admitted admitted she made a mistake concerning Benghazi, on public television. She emphatically stated, "It was my fault." I remember seeing it on television. That's a lot more than a lot of other senators or representatives in the White House would ever dare do, and I commend her for it.

What Hillary was saying was "Now that they're dead, what difference does it make that I abandoned them and lied about it". She never gave a shit about them, and still doesn't.
