Actually.. most hotels that are 3 star or above generally do not care as long as undue attention is not brought to their location.
If you are worried about security and safety-- avoid the lower end hotels.. The Motel 6, Super 8, etc....
When I have a gent visit me at a hotel (I tour frequently)... I always given them specific instructions to the elevator as well as my room so that they can walk in like they belong and know where they are going. I also always ask gents to NOT bring flowers, as it does attract more attention. Other than that.. if you are staying with safe, reputable ladies-- you shouldn't have any issues whether she is in an apartment or a hotel. Apartment neighbors can report too much activity just as easily as a hotel.

At any rate-- the point I was trying to make before Mongo decided to throw his/her two cents in..... is that those of us who are experienced and professional already know what hotels to utilize and which chains to avoid. If you are seeing a well reviewed lady who is using a hotel... you will be fine. She has done her homework and likely knows what steps to take to keep herself and her clients safe.

greeting by hotel staff
As listed above act like you belong. You can always ask where the restroom is located, and hurry off as soon as direction are given. This should get you by.

I've never had anyone say anything to me ever other than hello, or goodbye. I think maybe people get a little paranoid because YOU know why you are there and are scared they know why you are there also. If I do an out call I always park by a side door.. Go in the front but leave a different route.
If I am doing an incall at a hotel, I always tell the gentlemen how to maneuver around to find the elevator or such. However, when I travel for personal pleasure it is not uncommon for me to have visitors. I can see if one is taking appointments back to back but even 3 shouldn't be cause for concern. If I'm staying in a city for over 3 days, I move to a different hotel after 2 nights stay. But you really can't go by my experience as I am a one a day provider. So, this is just in my opinion.

In Raleigh there was a house in a great neighborhood that Leo used to snatch up providers and hobbiest. Don't think they don't pull that

What hotels come to mind as safest? Local upscale or some particular chain?

I try very hard to ignore a lot of your posts. You obviously have different experiences than I do and I accept that your posts reflect your experiences. But sometimes I cannot continue to bite my tongue at what you say.
No hotels want disruptions that make things unpleasant for their customers--unsavory people, the smell of illegal substances wafting from under a door, loud noises at 1 AM. No hotels want police attention that makes them look bad--lots of people taken away, SWAT teams, long drawn out visible presence.
Beyond that most of them do not care. Most of them would gladly prefer a charming, sophisticated escort who has dinner for two and a quiet evening in a room instead of a bunch of inappropriately dressed boozing "legal" bikers scaring any other guest who walk by them.
I have averaged over 180 days a year in hotels for about 25 years. I have had many, many women spend evenings and nights and weekends in my rooms. Many of the front desk people know exactly what is going on. They recognize my long term friends, they ask if someone is staying the night and provide extra towels and a bottle of wine. On a few occasions when I say "no, my friend is out of town"' they have asked if I need any recommendations--remember, that used to be standard practice before internet boards. On one occasion an amazingly hot young lady working the desk in San Antonio said, as I checked in, "If XXXX isn't available tonight I get off work at 10:00"--and she used the lady's work name. Many of them will chat with my dates, and if I ever got in an argument with some of them I am quite sure the staff would side with her.
Yes, some hotels are operated by jerks or by moralists. But most your decent hotels want you to be decent, well behaved, treat the staff with respect and as people--know them by name, ask about their mother who was ill the last time you were there, be understanding when things aren't always perfect. Act calm and relaxed as if it is your home away from home, just like their ads convey. If you do that they really don't care that you paid a lady for some company.
Your statements just aren't as universally true as you think they are.

Most of your 3 star or better are generally fine. Hilton and Marriott are a bit iffy... depending on location. I will still utilize Hilton without worry, but I avoid Marriott branded properties.
Mind you.. there are also municipalities that are a bit harder to work in.. but most people are well aware of what townships to avoid.
I've managed to stay safe for damn near a decade. Mind you-- I have the added layer of not showing my face in my advertising.... but many many ladies who DO show face still manage to avoid problems just by being quiet, non problematic, and paying attention to what does and does not fly in their area.

I've never had any problems, it all depends on your attitude, if you skulk behind the plants somebody is going to sk what you are doing.
I enjoy taking a 21 year old down to breakfast and watching jaws drop all around.
I often book a night, but check out in the evening, nobody ever wonders why, apart from 'was the room satisfactory?' and I just say yes and smile back.
Of course, in some countries you need to pay extra to have a guest stay, and they are quite rigorous in checking that. Purely money. Don't put it on your expense account.

Said many time. Its not where you see them, its who you see. Both ways
Its not illegal to get a room, even for a local
Its not illegal to have a guest in the room, even of the opposite sex. Even a constant flow of them
Its not illegal to have sex in a room. Even multiple times a day with different partners
It IS illegal to pay for said sex. Just how will the police or the hotel management KNOW you are paying for sex? The hotel may ask you to leave if the maid finds a pile of used condoms choking the toilet. They ask you to leave because they SUPPECT what you are doing. The cops can knock on your door, but even if the guy is balls deep in your ass, they cannot prove anything
If your partner is well screened, the chances of a sting are almost, but not quite ZERO. If both know how to dress and act in public, its not an issue at any hotel. If she checks in dressed like a hooker or stripper, guess what they think? If he tries to sneak in through a side door, avoids the staff, acts guilty, guess what they will think? If they grab ass in the hall way, what do you expect?

this has happened to be especially during late hours the doors are locked and you need to know the name the room is registered under to be able to get in.

Dolce is talking about hotels that have secured lobbies.
Yes they exsist.
Stash the spare door card outside somewhere. But that gets to client trust issues.
Btw not a good idea to meet in lobby.
Or.
Simply stay elsewhere.
Of course, if the gal and guy are long-term friends, they do happen to know each others rw names already.
