Default Really? Musical genius Prince is dead at 57.

Since no one has said a word about this on this site, I'll do the honors. Prince Rogers Nelson began his career in 1978 with a hit called "Soft and Wet". Literally hundreds of songs later his voice has been stilled. You can't just talk about Prince when discussing his work, you have to discuss Cyndi Lauper who he wrote songs for, the Bangles another recipient of Prince songs, Morris Day who Prince gave a career, Girls 6 with Vanity, Sheile E, and Apollonia. 40 years Prince changed styles (and outfits) (and girlfriends) (and his name) in music and kept it fresh and moving. He also gave us Wendy and Lisa. Like Merle Haggard and Freddie Mercury, Prince was one of a kind.

Always surrounded by beautiful women including his wife. It's amazing, Prince and I have the same exact taste in women.

The Charlie Murphy / Dave Chappelle telling of the shirts vs blouses story is something everyone needs to see.

Also this performance of While My Guitar Gently Weeps at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a good look at what Prince can do. He was a shit-hot guitar player but didn't make that big of deal about it. He comes in at about 3:30 and takes the whole thing over. That grinning, black-haired kid in the back is George Harrison's son, btw.

Great youtube video on his guitar playing skills. I heard a quote yesterday about his guitar playing skills that said Eric Clapton was once asked " How does it fell to be recognized as the worlds best guitar player ? " Clapton told the questioner " I don't know, you'll have to ask Prince ". Now that's high praise indeed !

Speaking of Clapton, when the Beatles recorded While My Guitar Gently Weeps they needed another guitarist...yep, it was a young man named Eric Clapton.
