Downtown, the Ship Channel, and the east side commercial real estate will weather the current decline with the latter becoming more profitable because the chemical and refinery industry or downstream companies do very well when oil prices dip,,,Companies that drill oil on land or service companies that do are getting hit hard with the low oil prices,,,Demand for real estate in those west areas (energy corridor, Greenspoint, U.S. 290 corridor, and the Southwest Freeway corridor) will automatically decline after these companies consolidate and downsize to remain competitive. Whores could always work on the east side of town if they want.
