Planned Parenthood, practicing eugenics since the early 1900s.
And who do the liberals call racists?
I support Planned Parenthood's right to exist and applaud all but the practice of abortion as a means of birth control, especially using tax dollars. Let them fund themselves via donations from those that defend them. It is not my responsibility as a tax payer to fund them.
Now if the ones that did the expose of PP selling baby parts violated the law, they should be tried in a court of law provided it is not by the DA that sits on the board of PP.

Yes that would be great 2Dogs if we could direct where our tax dollars are and aren't spent.
The DA on PPH 's board had nothing to do with this investigation btw. A simple google would have told you that though i suspect you alread knew tjat...

Here is the problem that the fools (that's you EVA, WTF, and the ilk) won't except; the fact that the prosecutor has charged the pair with wanting to buy fetal tissue (which was part of their cover) also means that PP was willing to sell it to them which is against the law. So the prosecutor is admitting (as does PP) that they did, in fact, intend to sell fetal tissue. They're guilty of breaking a federal law.
As for the rest, this is going to be interesting. The prosecutor is going to go with the idea that these two did not work for a real publication therefore could not be reporters and that being the case did not have immunity from any actions that they took in their uncover operation....well, there are a shit load of bloggers out there and on line reporters who will think otherwise. This then becomes a first amendment issue which will crush the local partisan prosecutor. I'll be surprised if the prosecutor keeps their job after this.
Also, in a criminal case such as this, the defense has something called discovery. They can call in the executives from PP and ask them, under oath, what they planned to do with the fetal tissue they had and why they took the meeting if not to sell fetal tissue.
No, this is going to go a long ways towards putting PP down like a Nazi prison camp guard.

Devon Anderson is a Republican you fool. You do not have a clue wtf you are talking about. These so called journalists' big problem is tampering with government records. Not trying to buy fetal tissue.

I am surprised with this indictment, especially in Harris County.
I watched several news shows this evening, including MSNBC, and the general consensus seems to be that there is no way this will end in a conviction.
And JD is right. The defence will be able to call various officials from Planned Parenthood for depositions.
Ever been in a deposition?

Do you think they were indicted for "editing" a video?
If that's a "crime" then 99% of the news media is about to go to prison.
Politically motivated prosecutions rarely turn out well for the government.

In a criminal case one doesn't take depositions unless the Judge allows it.
It's rare that they allow it.
All the defense has to do is get the FULL VIDEO in front of the jury along with those portions that show the fetuses being cut up for shipment to reveal what these people were "after" in their "deceptive" investigative reporting. Anderson will become the champion of cutting up babies shortly. See how that works for her in the next cycle, if she runs again.

LL, as you might know , I was not privy to the Grand Jury preceeding. But that was one of the charges. You will have to wait for that specific information like the rest of us mere mortals.
had been indicted on a charge of tampering with a governmental record, a felony, and on a misdemeanor charge related to purchasing human organs.

You can read the law, which is public, as will be the indictments (if they are not already public). The law clearly states (emphasis mine) "A person commits an offense if he or she knowingly or intentionally offers to buy, offers to sell, acquires, receives, sells, or otherwise transfers any human organ for valuable consideration." The law does not require actually buying or selling, but simply offering to do so. A party does not have to be willing to sell for you to offer to buy. There is no admission of wrongdoing by the prosecutor on the part of PP by indicting people for intentionally offering to buy organs.

I haven't seen the full tapes, so I don't know exactly what was said. But if they did offer to buy from PP, then they clearly broke the letter of the law. The question will be whether intent to actually buy the organs is a requirement of breaking the law. Maybe the law will be considered unconstitutional if actual intent isn't required (doubtful), but no one is going to be losing their job for prosecuting people who clearly broke the letter of the law.
