Hotel recommendation

I will be in Houston specifically the woodlands/conroe area. looking for a nice hotel. whats the best one in the area? how do i find the best deals?

The Woodlands has some of the nicest and newest hotels in the Houston area.

The one tall one if you want a view.

Everything else might be 4 floor or less.

Most of the online sites have the same rates. I use Expedia worldwide and occasionally priceline to bid low.

any tricks to when to use expedia or priceline to book? ill be there this friday so I'm not sure if i should wait to last minute or book today or tomorrow.

Priceline to get the best rate in advance then go ahead and compare it to expedia, kayak or whichever site you want, it's just another browser window you have to open.

If you're feeling sporty, wait til the last minute and use hotels tonight.

there are tricks to priceline bidding.

no tricks to anything else except most sites offer a mystery hotel filtered to match what you are asking for. If your filter is good and you don't care which one, it usually saves 20% or so. In the past, I've been able to guess the mystery hotel by studying the current rates.

priceline bidding takes some time...possibly two days. So if you are going to do that, get started now.

You can increase after a filter change or 24 hours.

But for me, on expense account, taking the counter offer is good enough for me. I'm just being a good steward and keeping it competitive.

i use price line bid most of the times and if i am in hurry i go to hourly places around
