Heh...you wearing it on top of your thigh, or down around your ankle?
Put your gun in it and sit back down. The console has nothing to do with, it's the way the bucket seat wraps around your thigh and the pistol grip digs into the seat...

An open carry information meeting was held an Houston Police Chief McClelland Jr. and District Attorney Devon Anderson did address the "drop leg" holster issue. It is documented on the city's web page in the Questions and Answer section and states basically what I have previously posted.

P.S.-I was shocked when I went to my fitting for my Armani suit. I specifically asked if they could tailor it around a shoulder holster for my Walther CCP, and the tailor was more than happy to. He said he had done it several times. Now I have no reason to fear for not properly concealing the bulge that, while harder to notice, is still noticeable to me.

Why 9mm......?
Glock 30S for me...

Wakeup, I now see what you saying. I took my Kahr CM9 (pocket pistol) and put it in my drop leg holster and the handle will touch ( but does not dig into ) the bucket seat, but I can still draw from the holster without the seat belt getting in the way. I think it is still a little better than ankle carry when your by yourself in the car because you don't have to reach so far if your driving with one hand on the wheel while some maniac is shooting at you.

Caliber doesn't matter to me. A single stack of eight 9mm rounds serves me just as good as a double stack of ten .45 ACP. I also have large hands, so a subcompact won't work for me.

That's fucking awesome. I didn't even think about that until you said it. I'll remember it and get a chuckle every time I wear it now.

Yep. I spent more time than I care to think about in the front seat of that damn Suburban with my Beretta M9 digging into my leg...

I agree here, 5 rounds of .357 is sufficient for me.

Makes sense now!
BTW ... isn't a suit coat over a shoulder holster .... "concealed"?

My coats have "concealed" mine in a belt holster .... for a very long time .... in fact the coats I've worn with a belt holster ... look a little large when I have worn them when without carrying ... so I usually avoid wearing them without.
Of course they weren't tailored, so if I get some stippling on them I can just toss them!
Or someone can ... if for some reason I'm unable to do so.
"(3) “Concealed handgun” means a handgun, the presence of which is not
openly discernible to the ordinary observation of a reasonable person."

You asked about a shoulder holster...I gave you an answer...why do you assume I don't know what the law says?
Even if you buy an unfitted burlap sack off the rack from JC Penny or something, a shoulder holster provides an extremely noticeable change in the appearance of the suit. If it's tailored, it's FAR worse. A shoulder holster isn't like an IWB holster at the belt line. I can effectively conceal my Walther PPQ M2 Navy in an IWB under a t-shirt...
As boardman said, the only benefit I see from open carry is to save me from the unintentional imprinting or exposure of my concealed carry weapon. If there's a posted 30.07 sign, I'm still bound by the concealment constraints though.
However, if you'd like to argue the definition of the law with the officer who stops you for not concealing your handgun well enough, be my guest.
