Just started kayak fishing this fall. Forgot how much I enjoy fishing the bays!

Today's update

Went back to my honey hole caught 17 flounder. My biggest to date was today 23" 8lb 7oz.

Decided to try Moses lake at the gate, a few small flounder, croaker and some Rat Reds

Went back to the bay and waded. Caught 23 trout.

This past summer I gave the plugged San Bernard mouth a real effort. Even broke into my stash of old school corkeys. After the 2nd hard head on a corkey I doubt I will return unless the mouth is open.

The mouth of the Bernard has lots of sand bars...not very boat friendly.

I generally fish the Brazos mouth out of a boat. As another has sort-of implied the Bernard mouth has sanded in and is no longer passable. I do still occasionally fish off of land but not at the beach...more of the UTR locations.

I don't go in a boat I have better luck on the beach...

Its funny people on boats are trying to cast to where im standing and im trying to cast out to where there anchored haha

I know a few UTR locations but you have to have a truck to get back there usually... I miss fishing in matagorda sigh... lol

There has been talk about them opening up the mouth but I feel that more people are opposed to the idea because its costly for one and its just going to end up cloged up again... I think they should have made it jetties right there as well but its probably not going to ever happen..

You are way over the limit on both species. Hope you released the extras.
