There are more recommended prominent schools out there that sweeps controversial situations under the rug or pay off families with hush money. People go to school to learn not to be in a concentration camp or need prison like environments. I would be better off home schooling my child then to have someone that doesnt love my child like i do responsibility of him/her. To trust an adult with your child is big so you expect different of both parties.

There's that word again, "excessive". Do you know what it means? You can't because the definition depends on who is using it. I could say that shooting the little brat is excessive or tazing her is excessive. However, grabbing her? How does that constitutue excessive. That was his choice by that point. They had tried verbal threats, verbal force, and verbal bargaining so what is left? Maybe someone can design a disruptive student removal device. We could specially designed desks that grip the disruptive student, a device drive into the classroom, grab the desk (with the disruptive student), and take both to detention. No excessive force there as the human element is removed after the teacher makes the decision to call in the DSRD.

If this student struck the officer and all she got were a couple of bruises, then he acted with considerable (and appropriate) restraint.

By the way, it doesn't matter whether the punch was effective or not, any more than if a missed shot misses by an inch or a mile. A shot is a shot and a punch is a punch.

You should judge our society not by the front page news, but by the conclusions of the allegations most often found buried on the back pages.
