The different areas of New Orleans

I get really confused about the streets of this city..I keep find into streets ending and beginning with a different name.. Can anyone help make this easier for me to remember the names of the different places.. I know metairie, uptown, and French quarter area but I don't know the rest of this wonderful place.. Is there a easier say to find a map and to remember the names of certain places here?? I just moved here from Ms in Jan and still have trouble with the areas...

Hotels sometimes have maps available. Looking at a paper map (especially one designed for tourists) might be easier than looking at a map on a phone or computer screen. Good luck!
