Turns out, from a statistical stand point almost 0% of the female accounts were real. Now, I always thought it was at best 1 to 100 female to males, but damn, I should have played the lottery. I actually met 5 women through AM. Given only 1,492 women out of 5.5 million female accounts ever actually checked their in box, I was one lucky SOB to have found 5 actual women. Over 10 million men used the paid chat function. Who the hell were they talking to?
Interesting read. Sounds like a class action lawsuit in the making. At best, want to bet membership drops like a rock now? Will be just the bots talking to the bots soon.

A long time ago I created a profile on AM with almost no info. Never paid for a subscription. Almost immediately, I started receiving all kinds of messages from women wanting to meet me. Of course, for me to reply I needed a membership. Smelled like a bunch of shill and a scam to me. I totally ignored it and the messages eventually stopped. I'm glad my suspicion was right and I never signed up.
This year as an experiment, I created an account on seekingarragement, without paying anything. Same thing, a lot of girls are viewing my profile (there is almost nothing in there!) and "favoriting me. I suspect that site too has lots of shills.
I suspect a lot of those sites scam users the same way to get them to pay. There are always a percentage of true users, but no thanks, I don't like to be scammed.

I completely agree the % of real women posting on AM is exceeding small. Yet, I am not sure about there articles conclusions. If indeed only a few thousand women have actually joined the site, how is it I have managed to actually meet 5 and recognize and confirmed at least another dozen or two were women I knew such as dancers and providers? Even if 100,000 women on there are real, it seems a bit doubtful I am able to confirm 25-30 are real when you consider that number has to be spread all over the country and even over seas.
The articles conclusions may be right but I do think their %s are off a bit. Or, as I said, I should have been playing the lottery all this time.

My ECCIE Reviews
|
As an escort, the hacking of AshleyMadison.com is nothing but sheer irony. The same site that strongly encouraged men not to pay escorts is now under the scrutiny of having attributed to two possible suicides, a divorce (more to come!) and $500 million in lawsuits after this unexpected data breach.
So apparently, things got ugly very quickly . . . and it's only the beginning. *Sigh* How I wished I would've went to law school 4 years ago! I bet the divorce lawyers are oiling up their hands and licking their lips for a big payday. We are now living in an era where the divorce rate might exceed the marriage rates unless you're LGBT.
Nonetheless, the truth that has now been revealed in the hacking of the largest online affair site makes the hackers look like they've served some sort of vigilante justice to the male subscribers who got suckered into AshleyMadison.com. From the article that OSBG posted above, it seems that a good amount of the female profiles that were created had IP addresses that originated from the site itself.
For anyone who signed up and paid for an guaranteed affair - I think you've been duped.

The idiots who put their real info on their profile of anything online, especially anything of and adult nature and/or using their work computers doing so, is absolutely foolish and deserves everything they get and then some from whatever fallout happens in their RW lives.

I actually know someone who used AM, and had several hookups from it. Which makes me dubious of these data analytics pieces about how there were effectively no women on there, the real world testing proves otherwise in that case.

David, no one deserves to have their lives ruined. Even if they were careless and did not think things through. But then as you are someone who tries to out people , I am not surprised you fill that way.

No one deserves it? Then do not make it possible.........careless or not, if you put real life info out there on the internet, especially on an illegal board, you open yourself up to getting yourself in hot water with family and friends who do not know about it. So no one to blame but themselves.
OBSG, is there any way you can make a complete post after mine and do away with the baiting tactical personal jabs and baseless/unprovable accusations that relate to your well known agenda?

There is a huge difference between being responsible for their actions and "deserves everything they get and then some from whatever fallout happens in their RW lives. " No one, not even you, deserves to have their lives impacted or ruined by someone else, in this case, breaking the law by hacking then posting the information.
And David/bigdog, did you really just ask me to prove you try to out people. Really? Have you really forgotten why your handle Bigdog0311 was banned for good?

If you are responsible for your own actions, then you deserve the consequences of those actions, pretty simple.
Asking you to talk intelligently and staying on topic in a thread, even if you disagree with an opinion, without steering it towards your agenda is like trying to throw a small bucket of water on a 20 acre forest fire.

You win Bigdog, I cannot argue logic with someone who feels outting people is OK. Just forget the fact someone broke the law to post this information. Forget all the other people hurt by it like spouses and children. People who had no fault in this mess but have their lives ruined as well. I guess they "deserve" it as well. I guess you feel it would be OK if ECCIE got hacked and the data base got posted. Poor suckers who used RL info by mistake or did not know enough to protect themselves. But hay, they deserve it, right?
As much as you deserve what you get, I hope no one ever outs you.
Oh, and Mr" stay on topic", the topic was the % of real women on the site, not people getting what they deserve. Your post had nothing to do wit the topic as all. I know it is hard for you, but practice what you preach

Are you not breaking the law being a john and paying hookers for sex? That is why we have nicknames and hobby phones because we are doing something that is illegal, not only in the law books, but also in the eyes of God, fucking around on your wife with whores (if you are married), as well as any other friend/family member you do not want knowing this part of your life. If you fail to take the precautions necessary so that when, not if something like this happens, it is 100% your fault. Yes, it hurts others as a result, and they do not deserve it as they were not a part of it, nice ASSumption there, but the responsibility of that hurting goes on you for thinking someone else, namely an internet site, is going to protect your privacy. It is never OK, but when it happens, make sure your bases are covered so the the damage is at its minimalist, if any, and providing RW info is not covering those bases.
You can out me all you want, (wouldn't advise it tho since it is against the guidelines). I do not have a wife, kids or family in town, and my friends know I am on Eccie as well as who I am, but if someone I knew personally did not know about me on Eccie, then doing a search of my handle would not fall back on anything in my personal life (real name, real world phone #, ect.).
I was fully on topic, check out my first post......you deserve what you get, it had a double meaning, one being the % of real women on the site and talking to robots probably 90% of the time. I thought you of all people who are known for reading in between the lines of a post would have caught that, but, maybe it's depending upon what you want to see that matters. Only you, OBSG, can be an OP and hijack your own thread!
