What if they'd had that attitude.

So you want the market to set wages, but you want to inject government oversight into the equation first. When companies are stifling trade and perverting market economics, a Libertarian government should intervene and restore market freedom. What's lame is you thinking that capitalism is geared for equality. No. True capitalism is geared for equality of opportunity, not outcome. What you do with that opportunity is up to you. It's predicated on cheap labor. That labor is no longer cheap and jobs move overseas. It all comes down to greed. If you think it's anything other than that, you're fucking stupid. You sound pretty greedy. You're the one who wants to take away what someone else has earned and give it to someone who hasn't. There are plenty of companies that pay their workers fairly, make a good product and make a good living. Hurray! Work for them! No, they aren't making billions, but they are interested in equality for the working man. It all comes down to greed. How much is enough? Why should you get to decide?
PS - provide some data on illegals driving down wages, if that's not too much to ask. Take a basic economics course.

Now, answer my questions. Oh, that's right. You're too stupid. You'd rather blather on with tired liberal cliches and pretend like you care. BTW, do you make enough money? If you had a chance to make more, would you? Why, or why not? How much do you give to charity? You "care" about others, don't you?

So you favor govt intervention in private business? Capitalism isn't even geared for equal opportunity you fucking idiot. Do you care about poverty? What would YOU do about it? You haven't answered that yet. Too stupid?

Capitalism is most certainly geared for equal opportunity. Unfortunately it's just not geared for equal results. Capitalism is the type of economy that requires a person to have a degree of competiveness.

A typo. You must be a fucking retard. Aren't you the holier than thou grammar police? You're not nearly as smart as you think.
You will never eliminate poverty. The bottom rung of the ladder will always be poor. I don't give a shit what you make the minimum wage the mother fucker making it will be in poverty.
Answer the question you fucking coward. How much should the minimum wage be to eliminate poverty? You are clueless and a fucking coward. Be a man and stand up for your position. The max pay for CEO's sure bit you in the ass. Maybe you can do better this time. I doubt it but give it your best shot.

Flipping thru the channels I saw on the Dr Drew show some young audience members defend Donald Trump. The Prog panel members on the show were aghast. The truth is that a lot of the people who are supporting The Donald AREN'T Reps. Trump was praised by the young people for being authentic and voicing their frustration.
Trump knows how to draw a crowd and maintain eye balls. If he was running as a Dim, I think he'd be drawing the same numbers.

I only have to be smarter than you. And since when is someone concerned with the poor a coward? I already put my position forward. The fact that you didn't like it isn't my fault. How did max pay for ceo's bite me in the ass? I still believe the disparity is disgusting.

You haven't put your position out there. You just say it should be more. How much more? Give me a number. What should the minimum wage be to eliminate poverty? If you refuse to answer that then you are a coward.
The CEO's pay bit you in the ass because the number you proposed is so fucking low that nobody would work for it. It was ridiculous to even suggest it and yet you think that is a reasonable salary for someone running a multi billion dollar company.
Come on boy, how much should the minimum wage be? Be a man for once. Stand behind your position.

You're missing the point. It's not about putting a number on it, it's about recognizing a problem. 20 percent of kids in America live in poverty. Is that OK with you? Is that the mark of a great country when one fucking fifth of its children live in poverty. You're obsessed with me putting a number on it, well there's your goddamn number. Answer me, coward. Is that OK with you? Is it? I'm more of a man than you could ever hope to be because I already know your answer. You don't give a fuck. You're the chickenshit coward, not me.

Really care about the poor? I don't think you do. Capitalism has taken more people OUT of poverty than ANYTHING else in the world. Why do you go read up on micro banking in the third world. Having enough money to put food on the table and roof over your head may not sound stylish to you but to someone from India without a formal education or family connections it is a damn good feeling. Capitalism is the way to go!

You don't know the first thing about what's wrong with capitalism. Private possession of capital leads to monopoly of power. It leads to a monopoly in labor markets. With that comes exploitation, which is exactly what we're seeing now when the CEOs of American companies make over 400 times there entry-level employee. Capitalism's singular focus on profits leads to ignoring social benefits. This is proven by companies that pollute without giving a shit because they make so much money they can simply pay the fines. In a capitalist society you can pass on massive wealth to future generations. Some people are rich simply by being born into the right family, they did not earn it through any hard work of their own, so not only is there no equality of outcome, there's no equality of opportunity in those cases. This leads to social division, which we are seeing currently. And then there's the boom and bust cycles that the economy goes through, that lead to unemployment, etc.

Actually you ignorant douchebag, someone making $40k a year is doing extremely well vis-a-vis the rest of the world. In fact, if you earn over $34k, you're part of the global 1%. If you make over $12k a year, you're still in the top 10% globally.
More than half the world's population subsists on less than $2 a day.
So let's get our facts straight - the engine of US capitalism has lifted the majority of Americans into what the Occupy Wall Street rabble sneeringly calls "the 1%" on a global basis. And yet you say capitalism is the problem, not the solution?
Are you and your pal Bernie the Socialist in favor of raising taxes on everyone everywhere who makes over $12k a year and transferring it to the world's poorest? If not, why not? Don't you CARE about eliminating world poverty and inequality? Do you lack COMPASSION? If someone earning $12k a year doesn't want his taxes to go up in order to redistribute a big chunk of his income to the world's poorest - is he being GREEDY?
And while you're at it, sewer rat, tell us again how you became an internet app millionaire - and what lessons your success taught you about American capitalism.
