What you have just explained makes SOME sense. Except the fact that you are assuming I don't know how to be a escort. I have done this job for over 6 years with no incidents. I think you misunderstood my stance as if I would be standing outside the door with 6 inch heels and a dildo in my hand screaming my head off and possibly assaulting them in a crazy hooker rage.
I'm not saying I would pick a fight with the police. Anytime I have ever had any interaction with the police they have been extremely nice and accommodating. (these interactions weren't hobby related). Hold on, I did have a hobby related issue once. But it was bullshit. The Dallas Police would have never pulled some shit like this.
However, The police still infringe on our rights. A older gentleman can't go to a hotel with a younger woman without being involved in illegal activity? That's ridiculous.
If me standing up for myself and not allowing them to bully me into complying with something so ABSURD is considered picking a fight with them then per your perception I may seem confrontational.
They aren't searching my things without a search warrant. I'd like to see them get one with the evidence "a hotel clerk thought they looked suspicious because of the age difference" pshh.
Its not gonna happen.

You don't get it. You seem to want to pick a fight with the police and courts. Right or wrong, they are in charge!
Fade away into the background. Never ever argue with the police, one doesn't need the trouble it causes. Learn to always say: "Yes, Sir" and "No, Sir" to the police. You may not agree with what I say here, but do it.
With your lack of understanding, get the hell out of Johnson County before sundown because you probably won't blend in. If your dress, speech, or body language yells out that you are a whore expect to spend some time in jail and some money for an attorney and court fines before you have a chance to spend another $10,000 to $20,000 for your chance to have your attorney talk to a federal judge.
Now then, is it worth it to you to prove that you are right by being angry about the situation? Wouldn't you rather be happy and move on to someplace else?

Dear zeejoe,
I understand completely why no one would want to encounter something like this. It would be a huge pain in the ass. I get it. Had I of had prior knowledge of this I would of booked somewhere other then here.
However, I still would not have complied with what they were demanding. This isn't a third world country. We have rights. It is the advice of every GREAT defense attorney on the face of this earth to NEVER allow them to search your things without a search warrant or even speak to them at all.
What if they would have found some cash in their possession. Would that have been evidence in their eyes to take them in? Possibly. Though a conviction would not have happened. I don't care how many "good ol boys" are in Johnson County.
Things like this and more profound infringements by the police have caused a number or departments to require them to wear body camera's. Why? Because they are abusing their power.

You are wrong on so many levels here. The police arent the judges and BS they are not in charge.
They have to have a "without a reasonable doubt you have committed a crime" to arrest you....and introduce you into the system
Kind of hard to end up in jail for the way you look or the clothes you are wearing if you have the guts to step up and say NO!
If they wanna trump up some charge with the risk of being sued...go ahead.
Do you realize that in a police officers career they will be sued a minimum 2-3 x
LE cannot just show up and just force their way in unless they have reason to believe someone is in danger or that the commission of a crime is being committed.
Hell Cynamon could have some guys dick down her throat when they show up doesnt mean anything. Imagine this cop shows up at a hotel and here's the conversation:
Front Desk: We have suspicion that something funky is going on in room 222.
Officer: What is it you feel is going on?
Front Desk: Well this girl looks like a whore and she is dressed like one and her body language is bad.
Officer: Well what kind of activity have you witnessed, and are you saying she is a prostitute or what?
Front desk: Yes, we see men coming in at all hours of the night, but we aren't sure if it is for her or not.
Officer: So what do you want us to do?
Front desk: We want to have her arrested because of her body language or ask her to leave.
Officer: I can ask her to leave but I cannot arrest her for the way she looks... let us chat with her, Has she paid you for the room?
Front Desk : Yes
Officers obtain the guest name/copy of the DL from the front desk and run here info...then mosey on down to room 222 and knock....BTW she comes up clean on NCIC.
Cynamon answers the door in a sexy little night gown and says "how may I help you officers?"
Officers reply: well the front desk says you look suspicious and look like a whore...are you?
Cynamon: why yes officers I am a whore...I love men and I love to DT....whats it to ya but I certainly dont do it for money?
Officers: Well they have asked us to come check on you and find out if you are running prostitution out of this room.
Cynamon: Oh that's funny but untrue....is there anything else I can do for you boyz?
Officers: Ok no..... well they want you to leave.
Cynamon: ooookkkkkay well let me gather my stuff , but I paid for my room will they refund me.
Officers: Thats between you and the hotel
Cynamon gather her things and is escorted off the hotel grounds after getting her refund.
NOW WHAT?
They can ask her to leave the hotel has that right...regardless its private property
Where in any of this can they arrest her...she doesn't have any warrants...they can sit and watch her but they wont cause they other shit going on...and areas to patrol.
Now if she has a record for prostitution...it might raise red flags...but they still cannot arrest her for a record.
BTW most judges are on the side of the cops...but he/she also understand that the law has to be followed regardless...people have rights as well.
Its the same way on both side of the stateline...and federal laws are the same in KS as they are MO.
Stay low key and dont say shit....the burden of proof is on them...let them prove it.

Excuse me....
Okay. I'm back. I had to freshen up. I pissed myself when I read these comments.
JR Is a little over the top paranoid. However, I get that way at times as well. When I check in to a hotel I feel like everyone knows what I am doing as if there is a red dot by my name. I take my DR Prescribed anxiety medication shortly after the walk of shame and I'm ok again.
It's odd. When I go back home to Oklahoma and pull into LOT #228 in my 6 inch heels and leather mini skirt no one bats a eye. Johnson county must be too boosh for a girl like me.
LOL.

I'm no lawyer & I don't pretend to know all the laws of land, but it does seem that the term "probable cause" is being used more commonly to hamstring people caught up in low level crimes. It also seems that judges are more frequently siding with the cops in these instances & upholding these arrests. Simply carrying a certain amount of cash has been seen as probable cause for cops to stop a person & "suspecting" them of some sort of malfeasance.
To this end, it seems one would be better off accepting that this is happening & take whatever steps they deem necessary to avoid finding themselves in an unfortunate situation? "Yes sir," "no sir," & "thank you officer" seems like a small price to pay, as well as staying away from areas where the cops have a history of "targeting" providers & clients.
Pussy may be worth a lot, I'm just not sure it's worth an arrest, conviction, &/or being registered as a "sex offender." Fight the battles you can win, concession sometimes can be the better part of valor.

Hmmm. You're brave talking shit about something you know very little about. I'll tell you what. PM me. I'll give you the address. Feel free to use the place as you wish. And when they knock on YOUR door, feel free to tell them to fuck off. We'll see your name on the local booking sheet here and everyone will know your real name and address. This isn't TX honey. It's KS. If you dont' know the difference, STFU.

Did you read the entire post? We were being told to cooperate or leave. NOW. If we 'leave now', do you think Lenexa PD is going to go away? Do you REALLY think if they sent 3 officers to the door, they're gonna go "golly gee. He's not going to let us in today. I guess we'll just leave now...."
NO! They're just going to wait for us to pack and leave, as per the hotel's instructions, and then stop us on the way out. EITHER WAY THEY WERE GOING TO SEARCH US! That's the point you don't get. By the time they showed up, they knew my name, my car and had run my plates and knew EXACTLY who I was. Do you think pissing them off would aid my cause?
For once I really agree with JR. I had nothing to hide. You go "yes sir" "no sir" and nothing more. No long answers. Just yes and no. Then I leave and it's over. Was I pissed? HELL YES I was pissed. But all you arm chair lawyers are dumber than shit if you think slamming the door in a cops face is going to end the issue. ESPECIALLY when we're being told to cooperate or leave.
The situation is this. The hotels are being told to cooperate with LE or THEY will get harassed. They don't want any trouble with LE, so they're going to cooperate. They sell it as "teamwork", but it's coercien. I wasn't in my own house where I could say "Fuck you, get a search warrant".

You talk about your rights. Hotels have "rights". And one of them is to refuse service. What you're saying would be agreeable if it were my HOUSE. But unless you own the hotel, it's NOT your house. And they CAN search it with the OWNER'S CONSENT! Who's the owner? Whomever is the management representative of the hotel! Your "rights" do NOT extend to a hotel room, only personal possessions. And, in Lenexa, if they want to stop you, they WILL stop you and then they search your car on the side of the road while you sit in the back of a cruiser as opposed to me (somewhat) smirking when if dawned on them what ACTUALLY was happening!
Maybe I should grow some balls. But, I try to use my brain. I failed to use it in booking the room in Lenexa. But I wasn't going to compound my problems by picking a fight with an agency who's jurisdiction I have to drive thru on almost a DAILY basis! This isn't Dallas. Hell, if it were even KC it wouldn't have happened. But that's the point. LENEXA, or JoCo for that matter, is NOT KC OR DALLAS! If you don't understand the difference, then you really have no reason to talk shit.

I think you're missing ONE big point. I had nothing to hide. I KNEW they were going to 1) kick me out and then stop me or 2) search the room and realize they fucked up. Pissing them off served ZERO purpose. I live in the area. i have to go thru there again. They had my name and license (and for those that dont' know, they have a camera on the back of some cars that they drive thru the parking lot and streets and capture license plates and match them against a computer data base).
So. I could piss them off and possibly invite them to fuck with me everytime i drive thru town and pass a cop that captures my license plate. Or I can sit back and chuckle knowing that they fucked up this time. Sure, I can play tough if need be. But why? It served no purpose. They were going to search us one way or the other. Either in the room or in the car. But it was going to happen.

To this end, it seems one would be better off accepting that this is happening & take whatever steps they deem necessary to avoid finding themselves in an unfortunate situation? Pussy may be worth a lot, I'm just not sure it's worth an arrest, conviction, &/or being registered as a "sex offender." Fight the battles you can win, concession sometimes can be the better part of valor.

My point exactly. You could tell from their questioning they were operating on the assumption that 1) she was a prostitute and 2) prostitutes me pimps and 3) prostitutes mean drugs.
They were DEFINITELY trying to get her admit she was working but that it was "OK". They would "save" her if only she'd "let them". Again, you'd have to see the line of questioning. And they pulled her aside to talk JUST to the female cop. I wouldn't know what was said if my GF hadn't told me pretty much word for word. But it was one where they were trying to flip her and work up the ladder. You could almost imagine if she WERE a hooker, her pic would have been on a BP age later that night and some of you fuckers might have answered it.

OH I get it...and I did read the entire post and what I was responding to had nothing to do with your post and more to do with Cynamon and her bad body language and whoreish looks....lol
...ya think they have the right because she looks like a whore or has bad body language they can just show up and go ...uhh yeah your your a whore and ya gotta leave.
In regards to your situation
Look if the hotel says hey "cooperate or leave" cooperate and if you got nothing to hide...then let them do what they gotta do and move on. But I tell ya from 10 years of being on the street as a police officer here in Kansas City...ya got the right to say NO....I have paid for my room and done nothing wrong...and you have no probable cause based on a suspicion. Go ahead write my name down ...run my plates but I'm going to bed...so lets get this over with....then I would have some final words with the manager/owner.
Zip your mouth and say NO you cannot search my room without some reasonable prudence that a crime is being committed, I disagree with JR...so agree with him all you like.
Bottom line sorry that happened to you but if you felt you had some rights violated...you should request a supervisor.....or simply say shut the door...what are they going to do....bust the door down...let em....people are so afraid to challenge....I guess NO Justice NO peace right?
Listen I use to get "suspicious activity" and or "suspicious party" calls all the time and I would show up ask a few questions, run the DL and plates and if its clean its clean. Now as LE I can say go away and dont come back here again...but if I am in my hotel room and I just paid for...and LE shows up....you have some sanctity there that you dont have on a public street....and the rules are different for LE engagement.
Now officers have alot of discretion...but know your rights...I can tell you I fucked up more than once while in uniform and was lucky I didn't get sued/fired...because I dealt with someone that didn't know their rights and I felt I could take advantage of their lack of an education....wasnt right but it was it was.

You wish!
Let me tell you a story. I got stopped once for no reason, other than I was driving an out of state vehicle, late at night, through a small po-dunk town. I had not had anything to drink for two weeks, but I was getting tired and looking to find a motel in town. I must have weaved a little, and I got run into the little police station with a lot of harassment for about 3.5 hours. I told them I was just tired. They did not put me in the jail cell just gave me a hard time. I was polite the entire time and they finally drove me to motel about three blocks from my vehicle and told me to spend the night while they checked to see if I had a police record from out of state. It seems like the local cop wanted to get credit for a DWI and they did not have any equipment to test me for alcohol. I just held to my story that I had not been drinking and they finally let me go.
By that time, I was really tired. So, I paid for the room and went to bed. 3.5 hours at the station just because they wanted to harass me. If I hadn't been super nice to them, I probably would have slept in the jail.
Be nice, until it is time not to be nice.

Cynamon gather her things and is escorted off the hotel grounds after getting her refund.

Actually the cop can arrest you or anyone else for really any reason they want, its not the cops job to charge and convict you, rather its their job to detain you and give notice of alleged violations to the prosecutors office. The prosecutors office must then determine whether there is sufficient cause to file charges. If the prosecutor believes that there is sufficient cause to charge you, it is then up to a judge or jury whether or not your guilty, it is here and only here where "with out a reasonable doubt" is applied. I have been arrested many times buy cops who just want to fuck with me and waste my time. Even if the prosecutor finds their not enough evidence for a charge you have still had to endure the whole arrest process. Now I know your saying this is not legal, that's false arrest. Are you really gonna sue the police, your going to do what everyone else does, be happy that they didn't file charges and smile as you leave. If you give the cop shit, more than likely he is going to arrest you for "interfering with the lawful duties of a police officer" or "obstruction of justice", both you can get for simply refusing to answer the cop or by arguing with them.
