When Worlds Collide
This hasn't happened to me yet, but has anyone run into someone you know from your real life in the hobby? If so, what did you do, what did they do?

TURN YOUR HEAD...
Lol seriously. ...people think they have the right in a grocery store to walk up to a person. Been there numerous times....just ignore them completely. .. (if possible) if not ...role with the introduction. Xoxo annie

I think he's referring to knowing the person outside the hobby first then finding out they're now doing it.

Then what she said. At the most, a wink or a smile if you catch her looking at you and you're both alone but best not to even acknowledge her.

When I lived in Houston I ran into one I saw frequently at the grocery store. She was with a man, we literally bumped baskets. Said I was sorry and kept on going. By the time I got home she sent me a text to thank me for not knowing her. Her man had no idea what she did on the side.

The ONLY way I would consider talking to a provider if I saw her in the "real" world would be if we were both completely by ourselves (no one with her and no one with me) and if we were on "friendly" terms. Even then, it's still best to just maybe wink or a small discreet wave, if that. You want them to not be calling you at any time they like and to respect your privacy outside of the hobby and we've got to do the same for them. I know I wouldn't want anyone in my family knowing I pay for sex. I'm sure they have people in their families that they don't want knowing that they are selling sex.

This happened to me recently. I was at the bar at one of my favorite spots in town and as I got up to leave I saw a provider I have seen sitting at a table with an older gentlemen. We both just gave a slight nod of the head and I was on my way. Nothing else needed.

I have seen 1 gent twice in public, once while at a gas station and the other was at the grocery store. It had been a long time and he didn't seem to recognize me, but I remembered him because of his hair cut. I did not say anything to him.
I would never speak or show any recognition of a gentlemen I bump into in public. If he were to approach me (and I recognized him), I would greet him as an old friend.

I saw Charley from CC's and Bayoubabe at the Jazz Fest this year. By happenstance I ended up standing right next to both of them on separate occasions.
This is a VERY small town.

Saw one provider at a st patty's day parade. Actually she was riding in it and she threw a bunch of stuff to my kid. All I did was wink at her and say thank you. And that was it. And that's all it should be.

I would never approach or acknowledge someone I knew from the hobby.
But, in my line of work, I meet a LOT of people - and it would be RUDE not to remember them... so I'm in the habit of saying a lot of "hey ..... you"'s......
One time, I did meet someone from the hobby out, but didn't recall it was the hobby. I was with my wife and I recognized the girl but didn't place her - her reaction was the same...
So, I approached her, said hey, how's things, this is my wife.... then I saw her remember.... then I remembered..... so the conversation ended up pretty quickly after that.
It would have been weird to recognize each other - and not say anything, ended up weird anywho. All in all, no harm no foul.
Coulda been worse - but yeah, very small town - bound to happen.
