I'm saying that many people in the world don't have the luxury to raise or farm anything. So let's not get confused in this thread that Jemma is talking about the festival and people eating dogs when they DO have a choice. I'm sure if I told her how a Parent will kill the beloved"fluffy" and lie to his children about it because fluffy has been better at catching and eating field mice then him, and Fluffy has some meat on his bones, and how it is a mother fucker watching ur kid cry due to hunger, plus the lack of water(much less potable water), lack of seeds to plant, etc. She would understand.

Just being a realist. Sounds like a total myth to me that there are
dogs being eaten on a regular bases somewhere in the world
because people have no other choice for a food source.
And if they are being raised for the purpose of consumption
it is because those people want to eat dog meat, no other reason.
My old man was in the Philippians and he told me they raise dogs
for the purpose of eating them because they are considered a delicacy.
He said they would starve a dog for several days and then feed it a kind of
rice stuffing so that when they killed and roasted the dog the stuffing
would already be inside it. They did this at feasts and celebrations,
not because they had no other choice.
