Thanks, all! The group dynamic is what makes these soirees so much fun. OK, hot and sweaty is best saved for indoor activities other than meet-n-greets!

Several suggestions just in include M&G themes:

-- Steam bath (bring your own Turkish towel!)
-- Sauna (like a steam bath only a bit less humid); mini-towels are recommended
-- Go "fan" yourself, or better yet, bring a friend to do the heavy work (we'll use old magazines, not Playboys!)
-- "Beat to the Heat" smacks of something N-A-S-T-Y and I await the submitter to elucidate

And, of course, the ever ready "clothing optional" which had multiple supporters.

Seriously. Checking in person later this week at night, I will, but I was told that the new a/c was up and running late yesterday afternoon.

I would have stopped by on the way home from Austin, but I was ex-hausted (sic) and with a little bit of luck and grit, some travelers now in Austin will be in San Antonio next Tuesday for a day or two. Possibility for a mini-lunch for those who might be interested in meeting two ladies before they check into their hotels.

Meanwhile our initial alternate venue has already ordered new a/c, and the other two alternates not only have a/c, but additional amenities, such as patio and gaming (not betting stuff) activities available.

I think the lack of ac contributed to some clothing being shed. T'was a great time, thanks to ck and to all who attended to make it fun.

Tee hee (but not necessarily a wet Tee shirt) - our Hawaiian theme also included the option of Hawaiian swimwear, and, of course, coverups. There may have been a lady or two "modeling" the swimwear, but, being the gentleman that I am, I'd never tell!

Of course, even with significant a/c, a future Hawaiian theme would include the same options!

Now then, as for that proposed "Victoria's Secret Modeling Event" (two ladies and one gent made the proposal, I think in collusion amongst them) it is under consideration, and with enough participants and prizes (VS gift certificates, of course) why not? Same thing for the Casino Night and Strip Bingo ideas. Picnic at the pool with barbecue is already in the mix.

Update (1) on the a/c situation at this particular venue: boss man told me the a/c replacement has been ordered and should be in place shortly. My thinking is if and when that happens, could be a very viable "mini" event or after-party venue option.

Update (2) on the a/c situation at our usual "haunt" - I stopped in last night, met the new owner, felt for myself the definitely improved a/c chilling and circulation within our usual meeting space(s) and was told "further tweaks are in progress and I will double check results prior to final decision on 23rd M&G. And, in viewing the rest of the establishment I saw some immediate improvements and heard about further immediate plans. I will update those on the invite list in the next day or two.
