KC the King of Cancellations
This past week I had an appt with a lovely provider I had been wanting to see for quite a while. And damn the luck if work and the ol ball n chain boss came calling the day of my adventure and ruined it.
I cancelled a couple days prior...but did take her $50 for her trouble. Also I wanted to show her I'm a standup guy and care about her business.
Now it isn't the first time Ive had to cancel in my years as a hobbyist..and realize its part of the business.
That being said and speaking with her about it she stated she had 4 other cancellations that day...I felt really bad and Little Deal was pissed and would talk to me for 3 days.
Got me thinking is (Kansas City the KING of cancellations)...I have heard yes we have a reputation for this...I have heard its worse in other areas.
What are the reasons for the cancels?
Providers please weigh in as well on that and your policies...
Did you cancel because you:
Got a better deal...or decided to see someone else?
Got cold feet...money or time?
Wife or GF hosed ya and said you have to clean the gutters?

I find it more the other way around for me.
The provider is late, NC/NS, or I get to the location, and they go silent.
I find out later I just missed the show, because another guy got there right before I pulled in the lot.
I always book a week out, get confirmation two to three days out, text or call the morning of.
and still things happen on the providers end, but they don't call or text to inform me of the change.
could it be the client they are with at the time wanted some more time, and the rest of the clients get pushed back or just not seen. could happen. Right
I don't think I have ever canceled on a meeting. remember it's my money until I show up, then it's theirs, only white collar make the big bucks, while us little blue collar guys save our money to make a meeting. I don't know of to many guys that make 200 or more an hour.
So I ask for a little more consideration from the providers, in communicating with us, Please
Just looking at the ad's this morning, what was it, 8 to 12, or more, girls posted ad's wanting to set up meeting just today.
competition is crazy high in the KC area for providers right now. Clients have a lot to choose from...
so how is it there is always issues coming up, on either side.

Copter, I wold suggest you start your own thread as opposed to hijacking this one to make it about you, but that's off topic.
Back on topic, I've had to cancel for various reasons before. Work issues, spouse, sick kids, etc. We all have real lives that are more important than this hobby. The key to remaining in anybody's good graces (hobbyist or provider) is communication. If you have to cancel or reschedule, do it as soon as possible. The same rules apply here as they do in your personal or professional life.

I recently took a day off of work. Made the appointment 6 hours in advance, showed at the locale and I'll be damned the gal gave me her general locale and went silent for a good 20 minutes. I said "maybe another time" and was on 435 driving back to JOCO and she said ready in 5.. so I turned myself around and went back, annnnd SILENCE for another 30 min.
She then told me "she got picked up by the Grandview Police and going to Jail" -then texted me 3 hours later to offer me a discount and free greek on the menu... I passed.

I travel to KC about once a year, sometimes twice if I'm lucky-- I have gents who begin scheduling with me 3-4 weeks in advance of my arrival.. so you'd think that I'd have some issues with this... but nope.
The only time I've had real issues with cancellations in KC is when I landed and then it snowed 9 inches overnight. And even then, quite a few of my scheduled gents still schlepped it out to see me (was by the airport that time). And those who didn't, I could completely understand.
Kansas City has always been good to me when I've made the trip.

Talking with both local and traveling ladies, DC has an absolutely horrible rep for guys NC/NS.
There used to be a clique of guys who would see a high quality lady about to visit DC and fill her dance card with appointments--with no intent of showing for them. They consciously wanted to drive upper-end ladies away from visiting DC to cut down on "competition" for a fewcof thwir favorites.

I have noticed that regular clients usually ALWAYS keep their appointments, it's the newbies that get cold feet and mess your day up. They will schedule an appointment, change the time, get close, get nervous, and then want to reschedule for another day. I have learned to simply take my regulars first then play with the newbies if I have time.
I blame most of my nc/ns on nerves and unexpected work. Kc is great to providers who are established and safe. Most men can't stand the thought of getting caught which is why they back out unexpectedly.

For a guys view similar to Tiff's 1st comment:
I learned a long time ago that prebooking with an exsisting friend has many benefits.

There are rants by girls in every city about guys cancelling. I have even seen the same rant by the same girl in different cities. She may not have luck in KC, but there is obviously enough good guys to warrant a pretty healthy amount of travelling girls.
I dont want to call the girl a liar, but I suspect it was an exaggeration and I have had girls say I cancelled on them when I have asked about there availability, but never confirmed a time. Either way if you gave her multiple days notice there is no reason to worry about it since there is enough time for her to adjust her plans. I would not have given her the 50 either, but it was nice of you.

I never cancel either. I have asked about availability and made it clear I was not able to confirm, but wanted to check. Seems to work out if both parties are just honest. I would rather you told me (I have been told this) that your high roller called and you have to cancel, or whatever reason you want to make up BEFORE our appt. instead of having me drive to you and sit in a parking lot. A gets you another attempt to schedule in the future, B gets you a lost possible regular

I have cancelled once and really pissed off about it. January this year. I set it up with Dallas Rain. However, It was in the Fayetteville area AR. I had my flight booked. Then I got what I thought was true influenza. Checked myself into the ER and found out it was pneumonia. Glad I did not see her as I would have not forgiven myself if I had given Dallas something really nasty. Anyway, I really had a truly legitimate reason.
