Yes, like many here I come and post for the entertainment of it. It amuses me and passes the time of day. I don't come here to insult or to be insulted, that just displays what a miserable person you are. And I'm not going to be baited into trading insults with the likes of you or anyone else. Gave that up in high school. Didn't too much care for it then either. Insults usually are drawn when one had nothing intelligent to say, much like "your momma" jokes. Sorry cb, not to be confused with...
But I'm not sure of the chronology of the quote, Sir Winston had many memorable statements. I've never paid any attention as to which one was said when. Spice just laid a couple on me I've known for years, but was unaware it was his. Probably should read his biography someday.

The two quotes I posted were by Lord Acton and Edward Grey, respectively. Your quote was by George Santayana, not by Churchill.
