If you're comment was to me, then No. My reply was 100% accurate without exaggeration and just because I used to have money, won an award, or worked for a F500 company, doesn't make me feel more powerful or special. It just paints a more accurate picture of my life's path. I have been many things, not just one.

Doesn't necessarily mean he was calling you a liar... it is also synonymous with calling someone a narcissist.

Ok.
While I may have come off that way, I was just trying to make a point. Just because I've been around longer than anyone else who answered the poll, doesn't mean anything. It doesn't mean this is all I've ever done, it doesn't mean I have more experience, it doesn't mean I've had more men, doesn't mean anything. I just didn't want to be put on a box. Actually wish i hadn't answered the poll in the first place because there's so much left unexamined.
There are so many different ways to work in this industry, yet people trend to paint with broad strokes.
Reading this I know I sound defensive, and maybe I am, but I'm at a loss to explain right now why this isn't how i see myself.

Should it be a "glad your here" or just a " would love to meet someday"???

Jessica,
I read this post of yours and had to reply. It touched a nerve with me.
I am sorry you feel that maybe you shouldn't have answered--I am exceedingly thankful that you did reply, and for exactly the reason you mention: there ARE so many different ladies and so many different stories in this community, and that non-homogeneity is too easily forgotten unless ladies like you occasionally remind the audience of that basic fact.
If someone were stumbling upon ECCIE and just spent a few hours reading posts and reviews and ads they would likely come away with a very distorted idea of the community's demographics. It would be easy to believe every lady here does this full time, they have no life outside of escorting, and they would be financially destitute without the largess of the men here.
While that is probably true for some women, it is far from the representative lady I have had the pleasure of meeting. It is so nice to see a lady speak up and reaffirm what I have seen in my small experience base: that there are amazingly bright, confident, wise, and successful ladies on here. Not all by any means, but neither is every guy here pulling in high six-figure salaries and flying their dates out to see them on a private jet.
Unfortunately there are some folks--possibly some on this thread and certainly some who post in this forum--who are threatened by an lady who might come across as more self-assured or more accomplished than they are. Whether they couch it as "egotistical", or "snobbish", or "cold", or any other term they wish to use doesn't matter. They want to see all the ladies as some variant of barefoot and pregnant.
As one lady once told me, after I happened to see her PhD diploma from a well known school, "Sometimes I act like a dumb blonde because it strokes the egos of a lot of clients. And as soon as they are out the door I burst out laughing as I log in to check my brokerage account."
Thank you.
And an apology to Tia for diverting her thread.

I certainly hope you don't feel that I was attacking you, as that wasn't my intention. I know better than most that we can't all be pigeon-holed into one little box. I guess I'm of the mind though... that I don't have to explain myself to the masses. I know what I am. I know who I am. I have no shame for making choices that include this lifestyle. I'm not in this by force. I'm educated, intelligent, and skilled in more than one area. I don't have any shopping, chemical, or criminal issues that would keep me from working in the civilian world. But at this point in my life, this lifestyle affords me what I need..... time freedom.
I hope that your choice to be here doesn't ever make you feel like you have to explain yourself or make you feel "less than". There are as many stories as to "why" as there are ladies on this site...

Grace, most the ladies I know who are here voluntarily are here for essentially that reason: time. Time to spend with their children, their studies, or their other pursuits.

I often put my foot in my mouth or have trouble explaining things in a way that makes sense. I almost wrote (this morning before coffee) that I felt I was "better" than this job. But, I'm glad I didn't because that would have been wrong. I love my career and in no way do I feel "better" than anyone else or "better" than this industry. The correct term would have been "more" than this job. There is nothing wrong with being a provider and I am proud to be one. However, my point that I failed to make, was that we all are more than what we do for a living.
There are plenty of women in this industry that are so much more than a plaything for money. We are mothers, we are business women, we are important members of our community.
I wasn't so much offended by anything anyone said. I was more frustrated with myself because I didn't like how I was coming off. At first I wasn't happy telling the world I've been a sex worker for most of my adult life, then I wasn't happy elaborating about the other careers and life experience I had. I was in agreement that I came off narcissistic and braggadocious. And that wasn't my intentions, but I clearly could see that was my result.
Now, that being said, all the lovely women here, whether they are newbies or oldtimers, are all so much more than what they do. They are all beautiful women and so many different ways.
