You blame the mods for not controlling your forums, yet when they control them the way you want, you bitch about censorship and locking threads.
Second, it takes two people for one of them to be upset. It takes someone to say something, and it takes another person to dislike it. Which would you rather control, the person who says it, or the person who dislikes it? In my experience, you need a moderator to change the first, but you only need yourself to change the second. A good moderator doesn't try to control their forum with infractions, they issue infractions for the rules they need to issue infractions for, and let the forum members set the tone for the rest.
If someone says something you don't like, ask yourself, why do I dislike it? And then ask yourself, should I post my dislike for it? If you answer the second question in the affirmative, you better realize that you're absolutely no different then the person who posted the thing you dislike.
This is the Interwebs...suck it up and deal...

I’ve been on this Board for a few years now and, if memory serves, initially, I don’t remember this volume of hostility displayed toward one another when I first joined up. After the Great Recession, I began to notice a change – coincidence?
I’ve been mulling this over for quite some time and the above two posts have provided me the perfect segue to explore and, hopefully, solicit others’ insights.
Speaking for myself and, I’m almost certain, many others, the economy has affected us. Gone is my good paying job as I’m now – hopefully temporarily – relegated to working for “starvation wages”. Gone is my discretionary income, as I’m barely able to pay for the essentials.
Needless to say; I can’t afford to pay for the “companionship” of someone to ease my troubled mind, if only for an hour. I can’t afford the luxury of someone to talk to and share experiences with, both good and bad.
It runs deeper than merely “activities that took place” – a certain type of friendship has developed with a few of these “companions”. It’s only natural as they, oftentimes, share their joys and tribulations with me too. In an unconventional way, we become somewhat interconnected.
Anger, bitterness, remorse, jealousy, malcontentedness, rumination are just a few powerful and complex human emotions that come into play here and manifest in both constructive and destructive ways – and arguably, the most painful of all – loneliness.

Nice post, Drummer. My financial position has not changed, but for time, since I joined the board, and I don't think a person should allow it to affect their temperament, but you are spot on to say it happens.

Of course they want money. So do I!
I agree with some of what you say, but that's another story. I think you may be missing my point, bjwstw.
As JC says, it's about the effect on and individual's temperament and how they choose to proceed while carrying this weight.

There are several of my favorite providers (Trisha, Lilly,MargeauxMe et al. and my new UTR) that I will remain in contact with but I will not be a regular contributor to ECCIE.
There is too much negativity to the providers and some of us that try to give emotional support to them. Take care and God bless. TK1963
