Odumbo never imagined this proposal would get through Congress. Odumbo's proposal is mean, partisan politics intended to foment partisan discord.

What has the price of gas have to do with Obama ?? It's fucking ridiculous to even mention it

This is unadulterated horse shit. Minimum wage jobs are not meant to support families on. they are supplemental income for unskilled labor. If you raise it to much business will cut back staff and or raise prices. I am not going to buy a $12 hamburger at McDonald's and neither wil anyone else. There is a tipping point where this won't work. And we do suppose equal pay. There are plenty of laws on the books outlawing discrimination already

That's a great idea! The problem is that instead of doing something hard, like cutting out the shrimp training on treadmills and billions of dollars worth of other stupidity, he just wants the gov to take it from somebody else.

It wouldn't surprise me in the least if Obama's true strategy in this idea is not to provide a means for under privileged American citizens to attend college, but rather undocumented immigrants a means.

Free community college is the affordable daycare the Ozombie King wants. If he came out in support of free belts for all saggers. I would gladly pay that tax.

Yeah, on the flip side of that coin when Obama stumbles you're going to proclaim it was Bush's fault, isn't that right.

If what you are saying is true than High School Diplomas should be devalued? From what little I have heard about Obama's proposal there's some string attached and stipulations one has to maintain for free college.
The point is that standards will be lowered. Once a government program is in place it must be made to work. In order to prove it is working the government will introduce new standards of testing that the CC's will have to live up to in order to remain "accredited" and able to receive students that are accepting the government tuition. Once that happens the CC's start teaching to a standardized test instead of encouraging the type of autonomous, with guidance, education philosophy that most colleges today use. Instead of higher education creating a smarter, analytic, self sufficient graduate they will be creating a bunch of zombies incapable of thinking for themselves and dependent on others for the simplest of answers. Much like the department of education has done to our primary and secondary education system.

This is a bad idea.

I'm a political moderate. I have no axe to grind with either side. I support gun rights, a strong military, fiscal responsibility and marriage equality. I never vote straight ticket. I'm also a management employee and a combat veteran. Unbiased enough for everyone?

Too many people go to college. As a society, we've grown to expect that everyone is college material. That's not the case. As a result, we've lost respect for skilled jobs that don't require a degree. I run a manufacturing plant. We are struggling to fill maintence and machine operator positions. Kids today see plumbing and electrical work as beneath them. Want to shore up the middle class? Invest in blue collar skill training.

No
why do I want to pay for other people?
why not give everyone free oil changes and plasma tvs?
there are some things we have to pay for, so people dont die in the street, cause some people don't like that.
Why do I want to pay for someone's college? I already pay for public schools, and kids are failing out of high school. who thinks paying MORE money for college, is going to turn it all around?
reminds me of Tosh. giving a COMMENCEMENT SPEECH RECENTLY AT A HIGH SCHOOL,

I REFUSE TO GIVE
THAT GENERIC SPEECH.
"AS I LOOK OUT HERE,
I SEE FUTURE LAWYERS
AND DOCTORS."
I GAVE THE REAL SPEECH.
"THERE'S FELONS HERE.
[laughter]
SOME OF YOU WILL DIE
IN A D.U.I. ACCIDENT TONIGHT."
OH, I'M SORRY.
EXPLAIN TO ME
WHY A DOSE OF REALITY
BEFORE COMMUNITY COLLEGE
IS A BAD THING,
BECAUSE I CERTAINLY DON'T NEED
TO PANDER TO THE 1%.
THEY DON'T NEED
MY LITTLE PEP RALLY.
THEY'RE GONNA BE JUST FINE.
NOBODY'S BEEN A PILE OF [bleep]
THEIR ENTIRE LIFE
AND THEN TURNED IT AROUND
BECAUSE OF
THE COMMENCEMENT ADDRESS.

EXCUSE ME?
NO, NO, IT JUST CLICKED.
"SO YOU'RE SAYING
I CAN BE ANYTHING?
"OH, YEAH,
THAT SOUNDS WAY BETTER THAN
"WHAT I WAS GONNA DO.

[laughter]

Government wastes money cause they have money
it's the same thing your kids do to you OR you do at a party at a strangers home
There is no reasom to care how much you spend or damage.
