I just want to comment that this woman blows me away. What an amazing woman. She gave her legs in service to her country, and now continues to serve her country in a difference capacity as a Congresswoman. If that isn't enough, to carry a child to term at her age takes a special measure of courage all by itself.
A few weeks ago someone posted about what a great role model for women Hillary Clinton is. Screw that, THIS woman is my hero. It is sad that I had no idea who she was. I don't care if my political views are different from hers or not. This woman has courage and dedication to her country beyond measure.
My only comment to the discussion about changing the rules for her is this - if allowing her to vote by proxy served Pelosi's interests, she wouldn't hesitate to change the rules. The fact that Pelosi is standing on this "rules are rules" drivel is because in this as in all things, Pelosi only gives a shit about what works for her.
