Both were healthcare workers in direct contact with someone symptomatic. It has been reported that proper protocol was not followed. Neither have died and I suspect none will. Samples were sent for testing to the US Center for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, Georgia and at the Texas state laboratory. Results were positive for Ebola virus.

For people who are NOT intimate contacts, Ebola may not be infectious because THOSE people only get it from blood, feces, etc., which only occurs after symptoms develop.

Sex partners are different. Saliva and semen are a different story. The virus is already present in the bodily fluids and the virus may be exchanged that way before the person gets violently ill.

Still don't believe that? Well then answer this question:
