Oh, I'm sorry if it seemed I was arguing. That wasn't my intention. My apologies.

I think being a provider and being in health care both have there risks. Never know what you might contact in medical field or being in the hobby. Just try and make Both safe.
The nurses i have met over the years i have been in the hobby are all thrill seekers, maybe that makes it more fun to be in this. After all they do know how to take care of people.

This discussion is very interesting and serious. Some good points have been made for example precum as opposed to full CIM DATY, DATO the exchanging of body fluids. BBFS is happening in the hobby. Has been and will continue. Some providers and guys feel comfortable with it after a few dates. It is mutual at the time. In our private lives we go through the same thing, after a few times covered we take off the cover. We make a judgment call, but you never know. So what do you do? We want to experience natural sex. I think providers and guys want it. It’s a risk, roll the dice lucky 7 or craps. The Hobby wont survive covered will it?

Great post BigDBone but you stated...
"The Hobby wont survive covered will it?"
Got to ask this in response, How could a married man risk doing it without it? or single guy for that matter. I would hate for a married man to share something with his wife that he got from the hobby by doing it without a condom.... BUT that could be a whole other thread on that.

Will the Hobby survive, was just a question. For the most part we do practice safe sex. We start out covered and safe, but it’s that one time when in the moment it happens, married or single. Can’t say if it is more providers initiated, but at that moment we do still have a choice. Just saying if things are to be covered up, CBJ, no DATY, because STD is in precum? It will get slow. Who will feel the most pressure? There will always be risk takers, but it takes 2

I started in this industry in 1984, the very beginning (and height) of the AIDS era. I worked until 1999, and I can tell you that I never once intentionally swapped bodily fluids with a client. No kissing, no daty, no bbbj, no nothing unprotected (other than handjobs). There were a couple of busted condoms over the years, and a few sloppily saran wrapped daty encounters, but other than that it was extremely clinical.
As far as I know, my fellow providers were following the same standards (or at least claimed they were!). This was before the days of the internet and reviews, and the providers held the cards in the encounters since there was no where for the clients to voice their displeasure with the limited activities.
So, what I'm trying to say is that they hobby survived those dark days, and it will survive any of the days ahead. It might evolve in different ways, but it will always survive.
Always,
Gina

I assume at this point that most providers do BBFS they are probably just particular who they will do it with and only after getting a feel for the particular client. Then there are the obvious providers that evryone on this board knows that offer BBFS indiscriminately. There were also 6 or 7 providers that I saw only once where a cover was not mandatory. Just be safe and assume that your client or your provider are partaking in BBFS and take the necessary steps that you feel comfortable with.

I see where you may think that, but I've lived w a SO for two years even, and no chances were taken. Condoms and Sex with anyone but a husband go hand in hand. Yep, only if I get married will I go bare, just a personal choice.

I can't imagine not engaging in oral (giving), it's my favorite by a mile. If I had to give that up I would quit the hobby forever. But I know it's risky - I know what could happen. As for receiving, if a provider insisted on CBJ, I'd survive! But BBFS would scare me to death.
IOP is not lost on me. If I'm being asked to engage in BBFS, so have plenty of others. If I'm told privately that cover is optional, depending on the situation I may still get my rocks off, but daty would be out as well (much to my terrible disappointment.) I would treat that person like they already have every disease under the sun.
