Any Interest in a Long Legged Spinner in Pittsburgh ARea?

Hi guys, I was thinking about visiting the Pittsburgh area. I have never been, and need a few suggestions on a good and safe location to stay.

you don't want to stay in any place on banksville road....it connects the city with the south suburbs thru the ft. pitt tunnels....sleazy and watched by l.e. for other crimes....
moon twp. near the airport has some nice places and at times heavy l.e. presence....
same with Monroeville....
a friend of mine recently stayed at a Marriott or some place at the waterfront in homestead near the theaters.....
the place was nice....their is a view of the river....places to eat....mostly chains and shopping....
it fairly easy to get to from off the parkway except when the high level bridge slows down....
you can make right off the bridge before the intersection at e. 8th ave.....
a road leads to the hotels....
