A GOOD REASON TO RETIRE AND RETURN?
retirement sucks!! I had to leave for several good reasons and now I sit on the couch all day or some days the beach.

I miss the travel, the men and im bored to tears most of the time. Its hard in the real world when you were a call girl for almost 20 years.

I want to come back but the pros vs cons list doesnt add up because of the danger & risks of the biz

ok sorry for the "poor me " post.
Im just debating it again.

Tia dont retire unless you have to, you wont like it. Im totally clueless of what to do with my life after providing.

I know some would consider me a lucky woman to be able to leave the biz alive and financially set for life.

But its in my blood, I think its what I was born to do...and I miss it.

JoAnnaMarch...sorry about your resignation under duress! That clearly sucked. Glad your scare with cancer was something that you were able to overcome. And you are clearly have the beauty to continue to be a sought-after provider.

Christy-Cupps...first of all you are too hot to retire. You say you can go another 10 years...damn straight. But you also point out two very important aspects of retirement.
1. TRANSITION PLAN: Have a plan to move out of one job / hobby and into another to occupy your time. It must be something you like to do...volunteer work, tutoring, painting, actual paying job...you get the idea.
2. FINANCIAL PLAN: You must have saved some money to be able to afford retirement. Sounds like you did and can afford to sit by the beach...just not exciting enough for you.

Part of the reason the hobby pays well is that there is not taxing of income, no SS deductions, no wage garnishments, etc. But if you spend it all and live a fun life it is gone very quickly. If you set aside 25% minimum and 35% optimally, you will see some nice savings build up. I am not a financial advisor but suspect you need to find a way to save and grow it without drawing attention from the wrong people that will ask where the money came from.

Working stiffs like me have 401k pulled out, SS taken out, taxes taken out, insurance premiums taken out, etc. If I spent all of that I could travel too when not at work. But then I would need to work until I die and that would only be OK if I die young...which is not OK.

Guys, ladies, if you want to give parting gifts, feel free to do so (yes, the kitty counts as a gift).

It'll be a blast.
I kept mine short. I also gave myself some flexibility in terms of the retirement date.

I don't know the reasons you retired but am confused as to why you feel it is impossible to return without "risk". Though I recognize nothing is 100% safe, I have seen many ladies provide under the radar for years with very little concern for LE. How? They mainly see guys they already know and trust. The ocassional 'newbie' is thoroughly screened.

It seems to me that it is quite easy to be safe when you only see guys you want to see and only on your terms. The ones I speak of only pop up on their favored boards ocassionally to let their suiters know that they haven't completely vanished. With 20 years of providing under your belt, you should know lots of guys you can safely see when you and they desire.

I still have yet to break my cherry although I'm a member on three separate forums that cater to this line of work, don't retire just yet if your engine still gets wet.
