business trip to CR
I might be going on a business trip to CR in a month or so and I know I won't be staying at any of the typical hotels in San Juan due to the facility being in Alajuela(did I spell that right?)
It's going to be a two or three week stint and maybe I might get to spend a night or two in one of the hotels like the sportsman or delrey but if not what alternatives exist for a night into the capital? Are cabs reliable or would I have to rent a car? Any advice on this scene will be greatly appreciated. Hopefully I won't be working like a slave and get some fun time in, in addition to some zip lining which I've heard they're famous for too.

In Jacco about 2. Hours from San Jose is a bar named The Monkey Bar. At night there may as many as 100 Chicas from all over Latin America and South America. Usually about $100 / throw but you can negotiate for all night. There is a motel facility right next door. The also have some small casinos there. We had a great time. Also in San Jose is the Giggling Mat Lin, combination, hotel, casino, and Ho House. Just do not stray off the main roads, lots of crime. You can google The Monkey Bar and Giggling Marlin.

Alajuela is a long ways away from any action, it is close to the airport. If you can get away, see if you can get a room at the Sportmans lodge for a night or two. There are a lot of friendly Mongers there that will help guide you. Take the time to find a good Chica that meets your needs (test rides), get her phone number and pay for the taxi to visit you in Alajuela and when she leaves. Remember she is loosing business by traveling that far and back so take care of her. But before you do anything find out if the hotel you are staying at in Alajuela is Chica friendly!! Most are not, no sense having a Chica come all the way out to visit just to have the hotel turn her away.
Del Rey, Zona II are not far away by taxi from the Sportmans lodge so your selection of a Chica's is vast.
There are also quite a few MP’s that offer good service at a reasonable price, but the cab ride will cost you $25 to $30 from Alajuela or more. Check out costaricaticas.com, pay the small membership fee and you will have all the answers you need. The search button is your friend as well as posting questions.
Good luck and have fun.

The Cocal Casino is the place to go in Jaco.
There is a cheap hourly hotel (maybe $25USD), pretty much across the street from the Del Rey (I've never used it and don't recall the name). The girls at the Del Rey will know the name.
Some of the big hotels won't allow working girls in. If you find a good one, you want to spend several hours with, there is a "Sex Motel" which is very nice. The locals use it a lot. It used to be called Eden but they changed the name. I believe it is less than 10 minute taxi from Del Rey near El Pueblo.
You drive thru (the place looks like condos) with only garage entrances. You look for a unit with an open garage door, then go in, close garage door and lock the other door. There is a "lazy-susan" that you will pay for room (about 45 for 12yrs), order food and drinks (if you want).
The place is very very nice inside hot tub, dry and wet sauna, water fall, king bed and very clean (at least when I went).
We need them in the US.
Also I hear, the Sportsman will rent rooms by the hour and you have the massage parlours, New Fantasy, Zone II, Relax, Scores, Idem, Muses, ...... My preference is Idem and New Fantasy seem to have the best line-up

Thanks bro. That's the kind of info I'm looking for. Just a trip at night then come back to my room in alajuela.
I'm probably going to grab a room at the del rey when I go for pure fun another time.

If you haven't made that trip yet, I would recommend that you stay close to your work in Alajuela and venture into the city, after the evening rush hour. Just call for a taxi after 7pm and plan to spend at least a few hours downtown.
There are plenty of night clubs in downtown San Jose where you can get full service for about $50. You can also pick up a girl at the Del Rey for $100. However, she will likely want more if you drag her all the way back to your hotel in Alajuela. There are a few short time hotels downtown, and one across the street from the Del Rey.
jaco and the beach are fine, but its at least $150 there and the action is only available for a few hours in the evening at the Cocal Casino. It isn't like San Jose where there are tons of girls, all the time and for a good deal less money.

Yes, you spelled Alajuela correct. Alajuela is only a 20-25 minute drive to San Jose. Taxi will run you about $25 - $30. If you are using a taxi service, use the red ones with the yellow triangle on the door. Make sure you write down there tag number in case you have any problems. There are also plenty of private drivers in Costa Rica that will give you a better experience. There are plenty of place you can stay in San Jose for a day or 2. Sportsmen, Mona Lisa, Zona II, Scores and the Rey all have girls on the premises. It will not cost you an arm and a leg to stay at these places. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Most helpful info gents. Thank you. I just found out they're sending me there for six weeks! Plenty of time to sample what Costa Rica has to offer.

Now one more matter to attend to. I don't want to use my personal phone on the hotel wifi which could possibly be associated with sites of this nature. It could possibly be traced back to my company and I definitely don't want them to know of my extra curriculars even if I'm off the clock. Any suggestions on cheap smart phones with a decent data plan for my stay there?

There is no such thing as a cheap "smart" phone in Costa Rica. However, there are plenty of cheap, crap non-smart phones.
As a rule electronic devices in Costa Rica cost almost double for their equivalents in the United States.
My advice, just buy a Kindle Fire or Android type tablet in the U.S. before you leave. Do not put any real personal information on it, and use it on the WiFi.
You could also buy a prepaid SIM from the local telco and swap tha on your personal cell phone and then access the 3G Internet. However, you need to unlock your phone in the United States before you travel.

Well I haven't had the opportunity to get away and play yet (it is a business trip after all) but I have six weeks to do so. But do far I love this country. Great food, great beer(love bavaria dark) excellent weather and even the average looking civvie girls are hot. I can't wait.
One of my coworkers here suggested tengo india as a good "night club" to go to. Any of y'all try it out before?

Tango India is often recommended to foreigners because it's like a strip club in the United States. So, the locals rationalize that you would enjoy something similar to back home. You might be able to have sex with one of the girls in the club, but if that is the case, then won't get out of there for under $300.
Also, here you do not tip the strippers with dollar bills on stage. Only clueless gringos do that. Instead, they want you to buy the girls expensive drinks. The girls earn a commission from the drinks, and also get paid by the club. You might go, buy some drinks and collect telephone numbers from a few girls. They all have WhatsApp and like to text. Let them know you will be here for several weeks.
Come downtown, and have sex with one the girls at the Alcazar night club for $50. There are a few other ones, which are better than Tango India in terms of actually getting laid.

So is a CBJ standard here? I'm guessing it's going to be an upcharge.
