Worst Excuse Ever?!?!?!
Ok, so we all know sometimes life happens, everyone on both sides of the coin has had to legitimalnly cancel an appointment… sometimes the excuses…I mean reason they HAVE to cancel, are so far out there you have to laugh…so what is the worst reason you have heard for an appointment to be delayed or cancelled…?
I'll start, appointment made three days in advance, 1/2 hour before appointment, rec'd a text that her Chihuahua was deathly ill and she was taking him to the animal hospital that she had gotten in her purse and ate a candy bar… don't know if the dog made it or not…

I was talking to a provider a few weekends ago and she said that a guy told her the ATM was broken, so he couldn't make it.
Me personally, it has always been sorry, need to cancel or too busy...never a specific reason

I'm not sure what the worst excuse I've received is. But I can tell you the most common excuse for NCNS or cancellation: "Sorry, I overslept". I've gotten this excuse at times ranging from 8am through 5pm.

I scheduled a noon appointment in Dallas the day before with a reputable provider in 2012. Kept in contact, confirmed when leaving OKC. Text to confim I was in the vicinity less than 20 minutes out and was told she had to go put her grandma in the nursing home today, and would not be able to make it. WTF? She was a reputable provider, I posted the event and several WKs came to her defense. I called and we got things worked out. I asked the mod to delete my post and would try to set somethiing up again. Then she quit the hobby a week later! Really? No one plans more than 3-hours ahead to help put grandma in a home? I would have accepted a massive plumbing leak, apt flooded, or Grandma was ill and taken to the hospital. Supposedly this was actually the truth!

Oh yeah. Gotten the same range of times on the "overslept" excuse, only extend it to about 9pm. But if you consider that is the time an "I fell asleep" could be considered a legitimate excuse, then probably 8am-4am. I don't THINK I have ever tried to schedule between 4 and 8am. Lol.
I must self-report, though. I remember a long time ago when i was still in Dallas (might have even been pre-crash) I scheduled with a hot little number from the WW, who I thought was going to be flavor-of-the-month. I read one review, and immediately scheduled before doing complete fact-checking. I think she had 3 or 4 reviews. She called to confirm the day-of (well in advance), and rather than make up something, when she asked me why, I blurted out "because I actually read all your reviews." She was none too pleased.
SMH.

must have been a really small town.
when it comes to excuses, the fact that we even think in terms of good/bad is just one thing that separates us from women.
in her mind, all excuses are equal because all that matters is her right to change her mind at any time and for any reason. just part of the package.

Chocolate is poisonous to dogs. Maybe the excuse wasn't so lame after all.

1. She had an asthma attach went to the emergency room.
2. Her period started. This was actually a cancelation not being stood up.

HA! I had a provider tell me once I was already at her place that she was on her period. She did give me a big discount, and one the most enthusiastic BBBJs ever, but a little heads up might have been nice
I have had the "overslept" more than once. When you are on a schedule this can be frustrating.

SLIGHT HIJACK: I f providers offered BNG during that "inconvenient time" I think the gents would keep them busy. Maybe there are some that do, but it could be a useful marketing tool: "BNG this week only!" Or something like that.
BACK ON TOPIC: I love, just love it, when our traveling ladies cancel due to "not enough appointments scheduled." Intuitively, I know they must be somewhat high-volume while traveling. That is just the nature of the business. I just don't want to know about it. Under those circumstances, make up something else. Anything else. Just don't broadcast to me high volume, in case I want to see you next time. I mean, I already know it. I just don't want to KNOW it. Totally kills any potential IOP for me.
Sometimes poor excuses are better than true excuses.
