Default It just won't go away, secession

Now we have movements in Colorado, Maryland, and California where parts of the state want to secede from the state government. Now we get word that California wants to go further, they want to divide into six states. There are many benefits for each section to vote for this partitian.
1. Both LA and San Fransisco can get rid of those red necks that are dragging them down man.
2. Silicone Valley, the originator, will get to change tax laws.
3. East and Jefferson will not be responsible for the reckless spending of both LA and San Fransisco.
4. The smokers (not tobacco) up north will probably won't notice anything.

Default "Silicone" Valley? And you claim to be a teacher? Seriously?

Silicone Valley? I'm just curious; where is that?

Are all the strip clubs located there?

Well, a California breakup will put a WHOLE lot of electoral votes into play.

The GOP will no longer have to spot the Democrats a 55 vote lead in the Electoral College in every Presidential election.

Even if the GOP loses CA by 55-45%, they should still get at least 20 electoral votes to the democrats 35. So the deficit will only be about 25 votes.

But secession isn't going to happen. Period.

Unfortunately, you are probably right. With the oil boom in Texas, you boys down here are about to be supporting the whole nation, so you might want to secede here, too - better than sending it to a bunch of faggot liberals in Washington.

This was all started by a venture capitalist who I am sure has a plan to make a lot of money off the deal

More to the point, he enjoys and probably hopes to benefit in some way from all the attention associated with this effort. Draper is surely smart enough to realize that there's not even a one-in-a-million chance of the proposed California six-way split coming to pass.
