Sometimes folks on these boards will organize a party or get together at a local watering hole. They'll get a few hobbyists and ladies together for an evening of fun and face to face chatting.
The smart someones know that there is no actual "hobbying" going on at these gatherings but rather they're a chance for folks to meet face to face and get to know one another on a more social level.
I have enjoyed going to a few of these get togethers when they're well thought out and held in a nice venue. I like getting to know folks beyond their board personas and with their clothes on.

What about it? Do you like it when someone organizes a gathering of people from the board(s) to get together for some non sexual fun?
Or are you only here for that and don't want to hang out with a bunch of perverts?

I admit it, I'm snowed in and I'm bored stiff.
Trying to imagine what I'll be doing after the spring thaw to liven up the summer.

Jinny, I'd just love to show you how to catch trout on ultralite daredevils. Organizing a gtg is good for potential business. Business as a result of fun is always possible. Business entertainment expenses are a legitimate deduction with the IRS.

And I would love to catch a few of those beauties as well. Some friends went ice fishing but I get cold just thinking about that. Not for me.

Before Mr.. Big shot from Indys the guys and gals got together often at Bars and Clubs , but he put an end to those good times. for drinks and meeting

Tried ice fishing once, not my bag. We've tried to get an informal lunch together over the holidays but couldn't pull it off. I would be interested in attending a GTG. Someone has to take the initiative to organize one.

I was able to make it to a Happy Hour last spring, enjoyed it very much. It was fun to put some names and peronalities to the handles, and a great opportunity to meet some ladies as well.

LOL If I remember one of the before Indy's get togethers ended badly when a couple civie lady's started talking to the guys and of course the guys were very interested in them and trying to pick them up this pissed off the providers who in turn let the lady's know the guys were with them and that they were escorts.

It still never ceases to amaze me at how some folks behave. Not surprised anymore but still taken aback.

That's why one has to properly plan one, I still enjoy getting together with some hobby people for lunch, drinks or just to hang out now and then. It's fun to relax and just chat face to face with folks that you don't have to keep this secret from.
