Default This can't end well...

Newly elected New York mayor Bill De Blasio is taking policing advice from ex-convicts. That's not a typo:

http://nypost.com/2013/11/21/de-blas...-from-ex-cons/

Not surprisingly, the convicts think the police should not pay so much attention to them.

Some of them even want money spent on prisons to be paid to them to behave.

Key quotes:
----------------
"Arthur Castillo, 38 — who has been convicted for possessing stolen property and assault — said he would be much obliged if the cops just left him alone to do his thing.
“Cops won’t leave us alone!” he said. “Newly released prisoners are watched by the police and a lot of us don’t feel we have an opportunity to readapt to normal life because we are treated as criminals even though we are free.”

- - -

Castillo, of Bayside, Queens, called for de Blasio to both “redistribute” the wealth and pay what is, in effect, protection money.

“A lot of money is spent on the prison system — it should be used to cultivate prisoners lives,” he opined. “The money should be redistributed to help those who want to change while they are incarcerated.”
---------------

New York City will rue the day that fucking asshat got elected. Serves them right.

Actually, the state IS paying attention to them. Too much attention apparently:

“Cops won’t leave us alone!” he said. “Newly released prisoners are watched by the police..."

I don't think the new Mayor was elected with a mandate to keep hassling people like that billionaire Bloomberg allowed the police to do, as well as the dreaded Giuliani.

What was the major crime rate in NYC before Giuliani, and what was it when he left office?

Meaning what? They will something? Or pretend to do something?

But no actual changes to stop and frisk?

That's pretty cynical.
