Default Donating

The past two days my aunt and I have been out shopping and have gotten TONS of children's items that we want to donate. This might come out the wrong way but when I donate I like to know that it is actually going to families/Kids that are in actually need of it. I know some places will take it in but then turn around and sell it. With Christmas coming up I know that there are a lot of toy drives and other places that adopt families. I know that we are going to be taking stuff to Children's Mercy Hospital with in the next week and I will also be contacting a Marine recruiter to find out where I can drop off toys but is there any other places that you know of that is in need?

I have tons of little girl/boy hats that I wanted to be able to give to kids with Cancer and Im sure there will be some at Children's Mercy, I would like to be able to send them to St. Jude's but they would rather have money than donations due to the cost they endure daily. So please let me know if there are other places in the area that would be good to stop by with things..

Call the folks at the "Children's Center for the Visually Impaired" at 31st and Main, and see if they'd be interested. They also have more of a need funding though. If you do visit there, keep a handkerchief handy for your eyes.

Cancer action? Is that the name I need to google??

And thank both COG and Oldman. I try to wear a halo . But this isn't about me it's about the kids who will smile and be happy to receive these thing. One of the best things you can do is give to someone else. The joy and excitement on the children's face does more for me than anything else.

If you have any new teddy bears in your collection of toys I highly suggest donating them to the sunflower house in Johnson County. They help children who have encountered sexual abuse.

I don't care how big you are, once you see a sick kid with cancer, your heart just drops.
It would be nice to have a place to drop of items, and someone to deliver them to the kids.
I love what you are doing Queen...

Destiny do they only take teddy bears?? All the stuff is new but I have some what are called cuddle pet backpacks which are fluffy animals that are backpacks and then some other small stuffed animals. I would have no problem with donating them there.

Im not sure you could call them. I know they let each child that comes through pick out a teddy bear and a hand made quilt. Maybe they have changed it a little or have some other things they could use too but I know they are an awesome place!

Several years ago a provider offered a special if you brought a new kid's coat. She then gave then to Coats for Kids. That is a drive to provide coats to school age kids sponsored by KMBZ radio station.

Default I love the fact that there are still generous

People left in this world. I am doing something similar to this until Christmas with my clients. If they bring me a clean gently used coat they will receive a big discount off services. I'm taken all the coats to city union mission and donating them to the less fortunate. I love giving back to our city.
Queen keep up the good work babe.
