Log In Issues
The last 2-3 days when I attempt to log in the page "rolls over" after the banner "thanking" me for logging in and a "fresh" page with the log in information missing appears. It takes several times to get it to remain showing me logged in ... and several times when I quit a thread I have to "re-log in" ..
I would like to know if this is site oriented ......(has anyone else complained)?
.. and you can PM me if you like with any security issue responses.
Thanks
LL

Many times after I log in, I get the "thank you" banner, then come back to the home page with blank log in boxes.
After I refresh the page, all is good, shows me logged in, etc.
I have not had the issue you speak of where you have to "re-log in".
What browser are you using? Are you accepting cookies?

I was hoping for some inside info on what may need to be tweaked, if there is a "tweak" to fix it.
I guess my tits aren't big enough.

What gets me is the Silxa page. When you try to close it, it asks if you really want to leave the page. YES, THAT'S THE REASON I CLOSED IT!

LL, are you clicking the "Remember Me" box at sign in? Doing so usually clears up the forum jumping/logout issue.

Actually, I have never done that, even on ASPD, so it would make it more difficult for any snoopy SO, or others, to pull up one of my favorite recreational resources.
So this "wrinkle" just recently developed, which is consistent apparently with some others' experiences recently, and it is also somewhat "interesting," because it appears that a screen shot (duplicate background for an instant) is being taken as I am leaving the current page and going to the next.
I do not have the same experience on any other sites I visit, and I visit a bunch (for nonrecreational purposes).
CC ... I'm not "whining" ... if the Eccie has some problem .. then I don't need to fret on my end ... but if Eccie doesn't have a problem then I need to do some digging a bit deeper .... if you get my drift. I can't have snoopers for any reason.

And CC, respecting your opinions and suggestions, I followed them ...
.. same result. Logged in, re-logged in, then went to a thread (this one) and shows I am logged into the system (so I was, but the first couple of times it showed I was not).
Then when I submit a reply, like this one, the system hesitates for a long time. I have to quit out and then relog back in ... and sometimes my posts and/or replies are not there.
It is almost like I am logging into a separate webpage or site. I have never seen this before.
If others were not having the same problem then, I would "assume" it is solely on my end.

Eureka, (at least for the time being)...
Since I don't believe in coincidences in this environment:
The "problem" seemed to have stopped:
#1: I "tweaked" settings to allow for the tracking of my PHYSICAL LOCATION and lower security level of cookies ..... so .... Why does Eccie need to know my PHYSICAL LOCATION WHEN I SIGN ON? And why does Eccie need to know my "cookie" information for preferences on the internet?
#2 OR whoever was monitoring my activity on Eccie decided that I was getting uncomfortably close to following their trail.
Think I'm paranoid do you? Activities on this board are supposed to be anonymous. "Period!"

Guess the lunch break is over, or was that the shift change.
Back the same, and hitting the "remember me" box doesn't make any difference.

Is this a clue?
"You have used 1 out of 5 login attempts. After all 5 have been used, you will be unable to login for 15 minutes."
Censorship!

Nope, that just means you fat-fingered your password or UID.

Nope, that means I only have 4 more chances to log in after my log in fails ....
.... and my fingers aren't fat ... either .... which I am sure the providers appreciate.
When it takes me 3 times to get logged on, that means I only have 2 more chances.
