No it wouldn't. First of all no people but a hand full of idiots like 40 Year Old Virgins let alone populations are going to agree to stop having sex. Right now, over 80,000 procedures happen per year resulting in over 30,000 births. That's more than enough to continue the genetic diversity of the species. If everyone was required to do it, sure, a population dip happens in the very short term, but fertility doctors become the most sought after jobs because of demand, and the population climbs again. No problems whatsoever...

Hardly the demise of the species...

30,000 births a year, starting tomorrow, isn't enough to sustain the aging population of Houston let alone the world.

Children of Men by J. D. James was a very interesting book about mass infertility set in the not too distant future. It was turned in to a film that was all right, but not nearly as good as the book. It was an interesting read.
